Thanks O'riley's Auto Parts who now carries lift pumps for the 24 valve ISB. My two local dealerships were trying to charge between $340, and $360 for a new one when the exact same pump at O'Riley's is $180 with tax, with pigtail, with banjo washers. Exact same pump! With a limited Lifetime Warranty! My best fuel pressure for the past 8 months has been 10 psi at idle, and 0 WOT. Now I'm getting 15 PSI and 8 WOT (Edge comp and Step 1 injectors).

All in all it's been a good week. I got rid of my RR diff. chatter with some modifier, and got my RR brakes changed :) :D :)

Just checked hoeslidiesel.com and they still have the pump on special $129. 95 plus shipping. When I bought mine from them , they also gave me a great price on Fleetguard oil/fuel filters. :D

Wonder what the "limited" means in limited lifetime warranty. Any parts store retailer would be a fool to offer any such warranty on this pump. You could just keep returning them after they fail I suppose until they start asking for proof its failed and whats causing it... or if it was installed incorrectly etc.

But don't sound like a bad deal really.

Hi Steve, and everyone else,

This is my first post. Got to get the hang of doing this as I've been a member for a couple years and reading TDR in the shadows and learnig about CTD as this is my first pichup and diesel. Never new how happy I would be until I got it. :) :cool .

MY 01 turned over 71,000 miles on my first trip.

Now have my first codes #216 & 1693.

I have a stock engine but also an Edge base unit. My question is "Do I have the dreaded Lp death staulker" relating to #216?

Also do you think #1693 is related to the overhead display screwed up I now have?

I called Rocky Mtm Cummins and was told $98. 00 fee to diagnose. Is this ok to pay for what I all ready know is wrong? Got burned at Christopher's Dodge last year for other minor things. Hope you all can help me, thanks in advance. Tom

1683 is a companion code between the ecm and pcmthe 0216 is the dreaded vp 44 code generally means your injection pump is dieing. do you have fuel pressure gauge? if not your lift pump has likely died.

djacy99- your right. I need a fpg.

FourBarR- Small details. Code is 1693 not 1683. You say it's the vp44 ? Is this correct or is it my fuel pump ?

Thanks guys for the replys and help. :)
