The Sachs 13" clutch used from 1989-93 is hard to beat. The latest ones I have gotten have a better friction material that should be less prone to chatter (that s why the trucks tend to buck, especially in reverse, not the suspension as some have thought). Another improvement is increasing the clamping pressure. The clutch in my poor old sickly Ram is holding over 1200 ft lb with improved friction materials (brass pucks) and more pressure (3600 lb) but still the basic Sachs clutch.

If you put a Sachs and th later LuK side by side (the Centerforce is based on the LuK), you will probably reach the conclusion I did--Sachs is the engineer's dream clutch, and LuK is the cost accountant's dream. Indeed, the LuK saves Dodge at least $500 per vechicle!

I don't prefer solid, unsprung hubs and multiple disks for a street driven vehicle, so I have not used the McLeod. I have heard problems with poor release and breaking the input shaft with such setups.

Hope this helps.
