Pink Floyd came to Sacramento, I am thinking around 1986, with all the lazers and BIG SCREEN TECHNOLOGY, I was over 100 yards away and could make out blades of grass on the overhead videos, with the Pigs Flying and so forth.

Was between marriages and hanging with someone who introduced me to wifey #2, she later told me she could hear the concert just fine from 10 miles away, due to wind and weather conditions.

IT WAS LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been to a couple of Stones concerts, Ray Charles was great as well as Joe Cocker, and John Lee Hooker and BB King have put on some great shows as well.

big jake 1,

I think the Floyd concert was in like 88, was it at Sac City College?? I was there too, what a concert. I still see the flying pigs in my sleep. .

That and BB King where my favs. I saw Wille Nelson in 85, that was cool too.

I seen ZZ Top on the Rocks it was pretty cool. Iron Maiden put on a good show. Lynard Skynard and Ted Nugent put on a good show at the Rocks too but, with out a doubt I would have to say Pink Floyd.

Cheap Trick at a smaller venue in San Antonio in mid-80s, think it was the Rose Palace. Over the years I've seen a lot of live rock, the big tours of the early 80's heavy metal scene were awesome (remember Van Halen and 1984? :D ), but Cheap Trick is hands down the best live band I have seen.

Used to be pretty easy to see at a concert which bands spent the most time "massaging" their tracks in the studio, modern electronics let them do a lot of the same stuff in real time "live", the sound quality in the modern concerts is awesome compared to what we used to get

Stevie Ray Vaughan at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor. Awesome venue, (restored old movie theater) incredible talent! Ernie Isley was the warm-up act and he was pretty awesome too.

Other great concerts were Santana and BB King, (3x) and Keb' Mo'.

I'm going to see Lyle Lovett (for the 2nd time) next week. Oo.

We went to see Toby Keith with Blake Shelton last summer at Cheyenne Front and Rear Days. Kick A$$ show. Ozzy at Red Rocks in '92 was unforgettable as well. I have tix to see Journey next week!

I saw KISS at the Tweetah Centah 2 years ago... that was THE best show ever.

Some members of the audience liked the show so much - they were lifting their shirts during the whole show.

Dave Matthew's Band at Foxboro Stadium was cool too... some mighty friendly folks at that show as well. :)

Conway Twitty at Vinton Louisiana back in the 70s also a good Merl Haggard concert at Lamar University in Beaumont about the same time period. Saw Marty Robbins (also saw Marty race in a NASCAR race at the old Texas speedway near College station, AJ was there too and Buddy Baker won in what else but a Daytona Dodge). Saw Jimm C. Newman at The Cotton Club in Lubbock one time in the 50s also Carl Perkins in Dallas. Johnny Cash, the Everly Brothers and George Jones in Beaumont. Also cought Jerry Lee in Beaumont and I almost forgot about the time I saw Lefty Frizzzell in a bar in Grady New Mexico. We went to a Lefty Frizzell memorial concert in Corsicana about four years ago, Had two of his brothers there and some young talent, it was good. It was supposed to become an annual event but haven't heard of it since. Recently saw Barbara Fairchild, Neil McCoy and Shogi Tabuchi at Branson. All were great. bg

YES...Hands down

YES '79 In-the-Round Tour. I just saw their 35th anniversary tour and it was as good, if not better than '79.
