If you were in the market for a used '03 to '07 CTD Ram, which year offers the best manual and auto transmissions, and the best rendition of the 5. 9L CTD?

Which year has the NV 5600 that everyone raves about? Is it better than the G56... which came out in what year?

When did the 47RE become the 48RE? Is the stock 47RE a good transmission?

Is there a huge difference between the 24V 5. 9 in 2003 and 2007? When did the common rail start?

Which year offers the most reliability for fuel and lift pumps?

Overall, which year offers the optimum balance of price, reliability, and performance in terms of engine/transmission manual(and auto)?

If I had the choice I say a early 07. (it has a new warrenty)

03-05 has the NV and 05. ?-present has the G56

Not sure on the autos

Common rail injection started in 03, the 04. 5-present have more power and options... stock

04. 5-present have more reliable lift pumps that are the tank.

like I said the 07 would be the way to go for power and reliabilty. Price is a different story... .

I wont start another G56 and NV war, but I think it depends if you want speed or pulling power, and if you plan on adding more power or keeping it stock.

Hope this helps :D
