I have a Pac Brake and I'm ok with it. I wish it were stronger and came on quicker.

I wouldn't get the Jake or the Banks because of the vacuum pump. The vacuum pump is just another thing to go wrong and these trucks alread have enough of that. If you sieze a pump you have to put your stock parts back on or wait for a pump. That's a no for me. \

Good thread by the way.

Jacobs Exhaust Brake keeps your warranty intact and with $12,000. 00 as a possible repair cost for engine replacement, I think its a no-brainer.

Harold-You out there?

I hope the PM's with the info you requested reached your in box. My boss is eagerly awaiting to hear from you and receive the updated unit for our ISC 8. 3 engines you promised him. If you did not get the PM's please let me know here and I'll resend the messages.

Thanks.

I got the Jacobs installed at the dealer when I bought the truck. I have 306K and I just removed the 4th vacuum pump from the engine. I also removed the Vac chamber elbow from the back of the turbo. It quit working about 2 months ago. I haven't been able to locate the part. All they will sell is the whole kit at $1100up. I bought a used Super D Celerator on Ebay (USGear) and I can't get any of the installers on the US gear website to install it. They won't handle them anymore because they said US Gear wouldn't honor the warranty and replacement parts cost too much! So, I will probably be getting a PRXB when I can get the money up. Are they any cheaper at the factory? I am in BC a lot delivering RV'S.

Progress report...
I went ahead with the Pacbrake PRXB. I also installed a shifter mounted push-pull switch. I took the truck and 28ft trailer 3,000 miles to Yellowstone and back. The brake worked wonders on ALL grades and just regular driving with the trailer. I came west through Donner pass on I-80. I never needed the service brakes to go down the grades.
I have been 100% happy with the unit and would buy another one if I had another truck.
