looking for experienced opinions on the best tires for towing. Im looking at Michelin’s LTX M/S2 & Nitto's Dura Grappler 235/80/17. Im now running Michelin’s LTX M/S, have 30,000 mi on them and only 5/32s left, most miles are empty!

Either choice will probably be a good one. Although 30k miles is not alot of miles to get out of a set. Ive got over that on my goodyear duratracs and I see lots of dirt roads, and fields in the spring and theyre over double what youve got for tread. Have they worn unevenly? Alot of people knock goodyear tires, but Ive had nothing but good results with them. Check out the silent armor progrades, theyre a top of the line tire in my opinion. Or if you want something more aggressive, the Goodyear Duratracs. They make minimal road noise for as an aggressive a tire as they are, and with 30k+ miles on them are wearing flat as a board.

The factory Michelins didnt last to well, good enough for the factory fill on tires I guess. Put on the Michelin's AT2's and like them no problems and used METAL VALVE STEMES they hold the air better IMO. Never had good luck with ANYTHING GOODYEAR OR FIRESTONE made ON ANYTHING.

I run Michelin LTX MS (now MS2) exclusively. I usually get about 80k on the duels and over 100k on the front. They are good in the snow and rain, and are quiet.

Only blowout I ever had was a Michelin, did about $600 damage to the truck. Last truck tires I've ever purchased from COSTCO. Goodyear tires have done the job for me.

I guess I have had excellent luck with Michelins. First set I got 150K out of them. I rotated every 5K and keep it aligned. I converted mine to a dually 4 yrs ago and have 50K on the Michelins now. But 85% of my time is towing

25-27K interstate. Very little in town.

got ribbs on 5th wheel and michelins ltx ms on o5 dulley, like to do things once. never let me down, and somtime i like to bring her up to 75 towing.
