Well, I've been in the CR trucks since 03 and I think it would be safe to say that I'm way behind on the 12 valves. I just bought one and wanna learn some new things and play with it a little. The truck is stock now, but I wanna do as much as I can to the pump without taking it off, like dv's, gsk, fuel plate and maybe work on the afc. What can you do to the afc? I really appreciate your help. I really look forward to learning some new things on these old engines.

they're the best! :)

4k GSK, leave the DV's alone, if you take the fuel plate out, adjust the lever arm way up so it doesn't dive under the AFC arm. Mod the AFC for more travel. Do a couple searches. Feel free to PM me and I can explain better. Drunk and tired right now!

I've been impressed with the #10 plate, 3KGSK, AFC spring kit and you'll need atleast a 14cm turbine housing. Stay with the stock 215 hp injectors for now. Call Piers and ask which combo they suggest. Have fun!!

I have been running the #11 for over 100k. Great for towing with my other mods. Now with recent turbo upgrade, thinking of trying a #10. I don't run hard, but want to tow at the speed limit without getting too hot.

#10 or #0 plate, AFC mods, gov springs and you'll be set.

the stock clutch and turbo will support a #11 at most... any more and you'll need to upgrade both.

Id stay away from the 12. 4" clutches if you are gonna be hard on it. 13" or DD is the only way to go, IMO.

As far as turbos, remember that 12V's tend to be laggier in the spool up area than CR motors do. You'll want a slightly quicker spooling turbo on a 12V to match the spool of a CR motor usually. Injectors go a long way to help spool them though... :)

If you have any questions/problems, feel free to shoot me a email or PM.

P. S. , the search function is invaluable, and almost everything you wanna know about a 12V is on this forum
