Just wondering what others recommend/like best for a fuel can, five gallon size? I have a couple of plastic ones and don't care for the fact that they bloat in warm weather and collapse in cool weather. I also have a couple of the metal "traditional" jerry cans and like them except for the fact that the pour spout/vent leak if it isn't replaced with the transport cap. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Being the cheapskate that I am, I still carry the plastic ones. I take 4 cans when I make a road trip. I used to just cover them with canvas, but made a plywood "L" to hide them when diesel topped $3/gal. The old ones I have had the seperate vent on one side. I noticed that the new ones have it in the spout.

Now there are special non spill CA versions of gas jugs as well. I built a wooden rack to hold my spare tire and a couple gas/water jugs in the bed on my last Baja trip. Carried 42 extra gallons of #2 and 21 gals of water all in 7 gal plastic jugs. But I was pretty remote. I would prefer to have lockable metal cans, but they're tough to find new in CA.
