Need HID headlamp bulb advice.

Had Gasket Sealant OR Not?

I tried to upgrade to LED bulbs in my 2nd gen. No go. The bulbs actually worked well as far as brightness but due to the design of the reflector housings and direction of the led's, the lights seemed to work backward.....high beam on low and low beam on high. I'm ready to say to hell with it and just replace the entire assemblies with something better. Is there a good option that's a total replacement? I saw a company called Retroshop that sells projector lights for 575.00............anybody have a good recommendation?

I installed NAO brand 9007 replacements. They were 52.00 and were pretty low buck.........it was an experiment and I had my doubts going into it. The store I purchased them from offered to take them back when I reported backward operation so no real loss on my part.

Not at all. Thanks.

I prefer installing the sport lamps for a huge improvement.I made my own wiring harnesses that plug in using all factory connectors.Using relays will ensure full system voltage to the lamps..Test your factory wiring, the voltage drop at the lamp will be significant

I have done the same with mine with good results. I did the relays when the truck was new, then the changed over to the Sport Headlights about three years ago. I wired the new headlights in the OEM manner. Just curious @Bob4x4, I have the right OEM Sport Headlight, but I cannot find a left OEM Sport Headlight. Do you know if one is available?

I have done several of the Sport headlight conversions over the years but since the OEM headlights are no longer available, I didn't want to mess with it. The last set I got from Geno's were junky chinese and didn't light up the road clearly like the OEM housings did. Is there one Sport headlight manufacturer out there now that is decent? I just assumed all the chinese stuff was junk as normal.

Just upgrade to the sport headlights from Genos. Super easy and HUGE improvement, especially when paired with the bright box.

I don’t think they are worth it any more. The lights aren’t oem and the reflectors are junk. Chinese stuff isn’t worth the money.
