Injectors vs. performance box

forget all the other crap - IMO - I have an electric seat - and all I have is a wooden stick that is cut to match the angle of the go pedal and the seat - put her in and power adjust the seat - cost - well unless it's a GOLD STICK - pennies and FOOLPROOF well almost - I have a 6 month female yellow lab (Lady Liberty - Libby for short) who dearly loves sticks... . need I say anymore... ...

I have whats left of a hickory sledge hammer handle approx 30" long under my seat for that very use. (at least thats what I tell the police officer when he asks why I have a weapon in my truck) ;)

Yep Yep. I used to do that with my 12v. It had power seats. Works like a CHAMP! People get a kick out of seeing me set the high idle too! :)

I have done the seat-stick trick, it works good. I got a Practical Solutions high idle a few years back, it works much better. Turn the knob till the RPM is where you want it, done. I don't think Practical Solutions is still around, I thought I heard that it was just too much work as a second job.

You might check the classifieds, maybe you will get lucky.

The stick thing works OK but I was thinking something like this would be nice.

Years ago when I worked for the fire department our fire engines had a knob you could turn counter-clockwise to increase the RPM's, with a button for quick release. The link below shows the cable I am talking about:

Has anyone installed one of these on their Dodge Ram?

Signal73,

What kind of communist state do you you live in? Now I know it "can" be used very effectively by the right person, but come on, a stick is a weapon? Damn I've got dozens of them in my truck. Got some real weapons in there too. Guns, knives, flashlight, screwdrivers, fire extinguisher, tire iron, torque wrench, etc...

just use the PTO cable/knob... you can idle up before you shunt down and then hit your remote start the next morning from the comfort of your house and it'll fire up and high idle for ya :D

I used a manual push/pull throttle cable/lock that I picked up at a parts store somewhere. It's a push pull setup and you turn it to lock it. I mounted it right beside the parking brake release and since I don't have cruise I just hooked it up to the pump lever where I'm assuming the cruise cable was supposed to go. Works good, I've used it as a poor mans cruise control on occasion to give the leg a quick stretch.

I've got an ice scraper that removes ice from my windshield but never touches it. I stuff the handle between the upper part of the go pedal and the bracket that bolts it to the fire wall. About 15 minutes @ 1000 rpm and the wipers do the rest.

I just bought a Hi-Idler from Practical Soulutions in Montana last week. It's easy plug and play hook up.

It has a rotary knob on a small black box, I mounted(velcro) mine on the underside of the streering column, you just dial in what RPM you want up tp 1550 RPM's.

I have a remote start so at night after I shut down the truck I dial up the knob so in the morning when I start the truck from in the house the RPM's come right up to what ever I dialed in the night before. .

The number is 406-727-5144 his name is Gordan and is really a good guy.

Good to hear Gordon is still around, I have bought several things from him in the past and all have worked as advertised and still work today.

I use a CUSTOM length of a paint stir stick and wedge it between the brake pedal and the gas pedal. If that aint redneck I'll... ... .

I had one of these on my truck, but the cable used to attach to the injector pump started to cut through the metal like a saw and it would also kick my throttle cable off the injector pump at WOT.
I just trough it away.
