What type of injector cleaner should be used on the 24V? I'm talking about something that you pour in the fuel tank. What milage intervals?

People have had pretty good luck with Stanadyne PF, just put in 8 oz every few tankfuls and it'll keep things spic'n'span. Some folks run it every tank.

Power Service additives have worked for a lot of folks too, the advantage to Power Service is that you can find it at many retail stores (Wal-Mart, Tractory Supply etc. )

I'll run a can of BK44 through it once a year, best right after a fuel filter change, so it cleans pumps and injectors instead of the fuel filter. Get that at Carquest. Stanadyne during the winter especially, and lond road trips. Not so much during the summer. Get that over at Central Motive power. Just my preferences. I only have 76k miles though. In the winter I seem to get a slight miss at idle sometimes, only when I don't have any fuel treatment in the tank.

KVaughn, I was wondering if you have a 53 block, I've looked all over my '99 and don't seem to have one!

53 Storm Block

The 53 storm block started in late 97 for the 98 12v and 24v if you look on the driver side front lower part of the block you will see a big 53. They were also used on the 2001.

I use Redline now. Had a bad white smoke on cold startup, rough idle (I mean shake the truck rough) problem. After reading some posts, I decided to try the Redline Diesel Fuel Catalyst.

Truck runs 99% better, Still have a small issue for about 30 seconds after startup in cold weather. Thinking a leaking injector.
