thanks, yea in that case my 3500 is the HO, If you could afford to do only one modifiaction to your engine to give it more low end power what would that be? thanks

My vote would have to still be with the Bosch RV275's. These give a nice increase across the entire power band. The boxes (at least EZ and TTPM) seem to be more low end power. Remember though, the 275's won't make it a hot rod. Some people immediatelty stepped up to larger injectors after getting a taste of the 275's. However, you would need to do other mods as well once you go down this road.

the only place i could find here in canada that sells the rv 275`s was a place that sells what they call an exact aftermarket version, are you familiar with these. also it seems that you can just buy injector tips and get the same increases any opinions on that?

I used Huckstorf diesel in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Hdiesel.com

call them, great guys will ship it to you. ask them your questions I can't say enough about there service.

Check your PMs. I took an Edge EZ off my truck recently to upgrade and I would be willing to let you try it for a couple weeks. Buy it or send it back, but at least you can see if it works for you!

Thanks Galen, thats real nice of you, i`ll consider that. there is something i don`t understand though. i am off the impression that a Smarty and the edge ez do basically the same thing, i didn`t think you could use 2 boxes that plug in under the dash at the same time,is there a fueling box and then a different type box? i have tried the Superchips& the MIlage max from quadzilla are those fueling boxes or are they like the Smarty?

how can I get in touch with Joe? Does he have a shop where he does installations?

thanks

Larry,

I didn't see this post earlier or would have replied.

As far as I know Joe doesn't actually have a shop but used to do some small installation jobs at TDR rallys. He may do some in his own garage at his home in or near ABQ.

If you buy a set of RV275hp injectors and don't have anyone you trust to install them I have a large barn and a friend who was a Dodge dealer tech for 6 or 7 years. He does my work and other work as a sideline evenings or weekends.

Crosby County, TX is closer than ABQ.

Try here for Bosch rv 275's in Canada

You can run an ez and a smarty at the same time. The smarty is a download, the ez connects to the data port under the hood. If you run the smarty as well as the ez you will need to run it on the no added timing settings, I would try one or the other. You may find that you dont need the second one.

I ran 275's and an ez for 150k and thought it to be an excellent setup. Then I added the smarty. Made it better but to be honest for my type of driving and towing needs I didnt really need it.

I agree with the RV275's and Edge EZ. On my '01, on 10-04-08 with SuperFlow Dyno, all else stock, they made 335 hp and 852 lbs trq.

This is also usable power, I never back out of the power, towing up hill other then road conditions.

On a recent towing trip (gcw 18,000 lbs) from Showlow, AZ. to Ray, ND. (1500 miles) I averaged 11. 76 mpg. driving 5 under most speed limits also 16. 2 on the return, pulling empty (3,000 lbs trailer) driving the speed limit.

thanks, i find that my 2001 3500 has too high gearing , it has the 355 dana 80 but i find there is too much difference between 5th gear and 6th gear,it probably wouldn`t be a problem if i had 410 ratio. so i`m gonna get the rv275`s and a 4' exhast and probably the "Banks power pack" kit whats you opinion on that banks kit?

I have not used any Banks Performance Products, however they have been around a long time with numerous satisfied customers.

Like Bob and Snowking have said, check your stock output, the HO is not a weak sister. Get a set of Pyro and boost gauges and do some checking, you will need them anyway for any engine mods.

I like my 3. 55 gears, fifth gear will pull hard and can cruise at 60-65 easy.

With the load I pulled to ND. any hill less then 6% was sixth gear. On 6-7 percent grades, fifth was easy. Don't be afraid of a down shift, use that awesome transmission!!

BD Diesel Performance has good products and live in Canada:)

Be mindfull of the Chineese imitations. I have seen them come from Bosch shope also trying to make a lil extra profit in these trying times
