What is the best intercooler for a 1997 Dodge 2500? I've been told to get the 98. 5 model as it is 1" or so higher & will offer better performance.

Any preferences or good or bad experiences with the different brands?

Has anyone with a Buckstop bumper replaced your intercooler? Did you have to remove the bumper or disconnect the A/C condenser?

I put a 24 valve intercooler on mine at a dyno and measured a 10 hp difference. (315-325) It probably would make a bigger difference at a higher hp level. There are aftermarket coolers available but they are a bit more $$.

Here is a link to a couple of different methods of intercooler swapping. I pulled my bumper and Hemi@Dart did not.

Ron, I did the intial R&D on the PDR coolers and still run mine with zero issues! The price is as good or better than a stock replacement unless you find a deal. One thing is the PDR coolers are a different build (bar and plate), like an intercooler instead of like a radiator (stock versions) There list price is $795 with no core!

Do you know where I could see a pic & something to read about that intercooler? I have heard about that style, but didn't know who made it or where to get them.

Thanks for the reply.
