I have a MAG that is good BUT it seems to be loosing it's ability to stay on - the switch (turning it) appears to not work like it did... ... but I love that it's made in the USA.....

My 3 cell led mini mag did the same thing after 6 months. I got a new one now. For the money there still hard to beat. Bright as all heck:)

I have one of these:

#ad

and it's little brother the TL-2.

Both are really nice! I'm still on the original batteries!

I also have a few old surefires that are regular (not LED) bulbs.

I have this one and it’s great (ARC-P). It’s a nice white light. It is small and light enough to carry in my pocket with my keys. As a result I always have it with me. I bet I use it at least once a day on average. It is like a cell phone or cordless drill. Once you have one you dont know how you lived without one.

I really like a headlamp if I need light to work on something - gives you two hands. This Princeton Tec Apex headlamp has a high power setting and a several low power settings. Batteries last a long time. The new lithuim batteries, while expensive and not rechargable, last a long time and have a very long shelf life.

We use Streamlights at work. I work in a steel mill, and these lights take serious abuse. I haven't seen one break yet.

Sure Fire Lights a outstanding compact tactical lights. I also have a Nova rechargeable in the truck.

Surefires are great and will last for ever ( I have a weapons mounted light of theirs and love it).

Also check out the Stream Light brand of lights. very similar to surefires but less expensive. I have a Streamlight Stinger XT rechargeable that has 1 LED and it brighter that my bigger lights.

I have carried this light on Duty for about 10 years and it has gone through HELLLLLLLL! Dropped, thrown, run over by cars, used to break windows, pound nails, break toilets etc.

We are also issued a larger Stream light rechargable which is about the size of a 3 cell Mag light. It has a Zenon bulb with 3 additional LED's, this light is pretty bright too and very durable, but the run time is less than stellar.

This larger light has also has numerous battle scars but continues to work.

Also have an Elcheapo that I bought at Cabelas that I carry in my hunting pack. Has several LEDS that you can switch so just some are on or all are on. It rechargeable, has an Aluminum body and has worked flawlessly. Think it was under $50.

Hope this helps,

J-

I have the Surefire tactical lite and its great. If your a sportsman this is a great asset. Its only 5" long and has great power. As most good things go, its not cheap, but good things seldom are.
