Question about SE PA...

Spring Jam Dyno Day Saturday The 16th in Mass!

Hi,

I am on Long Island and need suggestions as to which dealer will give me the best price and least hassel on an '06 3500 QC SB 4x4. Can anyone share their experiences? Thanks.

Joe

Contact your local chapter on LI. www.licroc.org I know some of the members up there and they will help you out. In the TDR magazine they also have some information listed, with a name and phone number, I am just reluctant to post it here.

I would not order a truck from anywhere in NJ or NY unless they are going to give you the kind of deal a real dealer would give you. Most of these guys sell so few trucks that they think they can rip you off.

I believe a lot of places offer at least 500 to 1000 off invoice... might be worth the drive.

don't know if you ordered your truck yet, but there's a guy on ebay all the time. Steve White Motors, he'll give it to you for invoice minus half the hold back. There use to be a TDR member I believe Tomey gun he gives a good deal also. Unfortuately NY & NJ stink, I went to NC for my vette saved over 7k. NC dealers out sell our dealers for the year by thousands of vehicles.

good luck

I ordered from a dealer near home ...

I am hoping that if I have any problems in the future, they will take care of me. I am paying invoice and getting all the discounts. So far $4,000 off. My friend purchased a 3500 QC CTD, SRW, LB and a Dodge minivan there last year and was treated pretty well. I am not going to go crazy for $500-700 dollars.

I ordered a 3500 QC SRW SB Inferno Red Crystal Pearl Coat and khaki leather with everything except sunroof and rear dvd. I placed the order at the end of last month and can't wait. I hope it arrives by the first week in April.

Thanks for all the help.

as long as you got it for invoice minus the rebates that's all you can expect

good deal, good luck. where are you on long island?

St. James

Hi,

I'm in St. James. Where are you? I can't wait until it comes in. Let's hope the discounts increase by then... .

Thanks,

Joe

i hope you or i dont have to take them in for any engine service, cause they dont get to fix many around here. where did you buy it? im not knocking the service dept. but they see 99 percent gassers. oh the 3 dealers around me dont do diesel inspections. best wishes with new truck, carl

I'm about 70 miles NW of the GWB or 55 NW of the TAP. I'm from Queens, Bellerose by the Cross Island. I moved up here when I got on the FDNY. At the time I couldn't touch anything on Long Island for 700k for what I got up here for 160K. Alot of my relatives are from Lake grove, not to far from you. Good Luck,

that was a good point brought up, you guys are definately going to have to find a dealer who can work on them or start wrenching them yourselves.

Smith Haven Dodge, Chrylser, Plymouth .....

They are in St. James also. I plan on doing most of the fluid and filter changes myself. My friend will help. I trust a mechanic in Massapequa near my parents for some of the more involved work. I hope the Cummins will not need major or minor engine work (that's one of the reasons why I wanted it). Also, having this forum and all you guys out there for support is really important to me. I've wanted a Ram with the Cummins for probably the last 10 years. When I had my VW Jetta TDI, I did all the basic maintenance myself and figured out who to go to for the major services. The TDICLUB.com is another great resource. I wasn't worried with the VW and will not worry too much  with the Cummins. I think we will all be OK :)

My buddy and I got good deals out at Riverhead.

I can't say much about any of the service centers, all seem below average.

I've used Riverhead for warranty, fairly good, but not great.

I tried Portjeff Dodge, they screwed things up a bit, one of the service managers got fed up and left.

Smith Haven dodge, my father used them, lots of problems.

My dad used Browns Jeep dealer in Medford, good experiences, and has been better for buying OEM parts through.

I do most of my own work. All my experience has been with warranty work.

The only place I haven't had problems with is Ford in Sayville and Riverhead.

Both had good sales and service.

From my expeirence with my last 4 rams, you have left out the most important criteria. which dealer is going to give you the best service after you buy it.

I would pay a little more to purchase if i new i was going to get good service when i returned.

Best Service from ?

Hi Andler,

I totally agree. Unfortunately, we all can't live near Lou Fusz Dodge, Dishmans (?), or any of the other outstanding dealers we hear about. I would love to be able buy from one of them and not worry at all about service and even have them help me bomb my truck. I know of 4 or 5 dealers, and have heard bad things about all of them. Thats why I bought where I did and hope for the best. My baby should be delivered on or before April 3rd. Thanks for all replys
