MR. B thats interesting that your mileage went down , i have had my 275 in and out , when i had 2 bad injectors when i purchased them from bosch , my mileage went up , when i put in the stock injectors it went down , came back up when i put the 275's back in . though i love the HP , my reason for the diesel was mileage , if the DD3's show a decrease ,out they come , but i have seen in the past claims of mileage increase with 3's ????

JJ,

Who is everyone?? Anyone you know or just testimonials on their web site? They wouldn't post a testimonial from someone that said the gizmo was a piece of junk. It may work perfectly. I'm just curious who "everyone" is.

Cocahoe. . I've spoken with Brad, the owner of Fuel Preporator, also if you check Diesel Injection of Pittsburgh (website), a no-nonsense Diesel site. . they are quite high on the Fuel Preporator system. It's a known fact that eliminating air from the fuel line makes quite a difference in diesel performance.

There are five major factors that influence the performance of "B" series Cummins engine injectors. First the cracking pressure the injector has been calibrated to operate at. Second the number of orifice holes. Third the diameter of the orifice holes. Fourth the angle of the orifice holes. Fifth the injector tip protrusion into the combustion chamber. Number five is set by the crush washer and installation torque. Number four is generally not altered. Now the Good Stuff... ... . The cracking pressure and orifice diameter & count. This is what you are paying for with custom hand built injectors. Obviously Bully Dog and Diesel Dynamics are the two best known vendors for these services. If I were contemplating an injector swap for ANY reason I would skip the stock Bosch 275's for a set of Stage I's. My reason for this would be the balanced and optimized calibration of the cracking pressures and orifice holes. The reduced workload on the VP-44 is a free much needed bonus. It ALL comes down to this, do you want injectors made by assembly line workers, or by an independent diesel technician held accountable for his work?
