DBoyd i just put one in my ride and i put it right in front of my right knee on that panel! ID post a pic but not sure how to do it!

on my 07 laraime it doesnt have the flip down cup holders and i put it where those would have been, closest to my right knee down where the cup holder light is, to the left of it, hope i explained it pretty good. if not i'll get some pics for ya

Not sure which interior you have. Here's my 06' Mega. I don't like anything on the knee bolster. Impossible to predict if my knee's would hit anything in an accident. I like walking.

Don. . I have the prodigy as well and I wanted a place that was handy but wasn't near my knee. . I have an st version truck... I bought the factory prodigy dodge compatible wire loom... it took all of 60 seconds to install

The place I like best was the cubbyhole under the heater controls... my prodigy fit in there like a glove. . snug. . I used some two sided tape to keep if from moving at all. . but it doesn't really need it... I used a 3/8 long drill bit to pilot hole each corner of a square. . then a long blade (fine tooth) sawzall to complete the hole. . just slightly larger then the plug... I went slow and didnt even need to file anything when done... if I ever need to repair the hole I can cut a piece of plastic that will cover the entire back of the cubby

I like the location... it sticks out just the right amount. . is out of the way. . is natural for my right hand to fall to for manual braking. . the loom just made it perfectly in length

opps I just realized from the pic in the post above above that my truck is an auto. . and the place I used might not be as great for a stick. . but try it anyway and see it it works for you

That's exactly where I put mine. It works great. It's completely out of the way, but if I need to get to it it's right there at my hand.

I just installed one in my '06 QC 6 SP last week too!! Popular piece!! I was going to locate it where everyone else is putting it just to the left of the shifter, but, I opted to sink it in the panel just above the parking brake release lever. Mine has a dummy plug right where I cut the panel open for it. This is basically the removable (replacable) cover under the steering column which is easily removed. There's additional cutting needed behind the cover, but once done, the controller fits nicely, and, it's right in line with the factory connector to wire it up to. I can send a pic or try to figure out how to post one here. Given that the color of the Prodogy is pretty close to the grey interior color of my truck, it almost looks like it belongs there.

OK, I can admit this here... . We're all friends, right?

I went to look at spots to mount mine. I took it out of the box and went out to the truck and tried a few different spots, but liked the lower left side-- Accessible, but out of the way... Gee why doesn't EVERYBODY mount them here? I'm a genious.

Some time later after the job was done, I went to go someplace. I started the truck which was normally parked in the garage, but because I wanted to mount this, was in the driveway. (better light and space) Driveway was (moved since) a pretty steep hill, so I release the (rarely used) parking brake, and POW, the pedal is smacking my brake controller. DOHHH! The old mount is still screwed to the lower left dash, perhaps as a monument to my stupidity.

Thank you camsv3500!! A trailer distributor put mine down in front of my right knee. It would be very hard to get to it in an emergency. Your directions on how you cut the hole and all will help me out later this spring when I move mine to that location!!

I like the left side because of the exhaust brake switch on the stick shift. If in a pinch, you can use both at the same time. Of course, that was on my '99, have yet to do the '04.

I'v had them mounted on the left but I prefer them on the right. Im just used to shifting with my right and keeping my left hand on the wheel. Mine is mounted just infront of my right knee facing up and has worked well for me.

i mounted mine below the light switch. i kept it high and outa the way and i can reach it without having to lean down too much. works for me but make sure you do nial you knee on the way out.

I mounted mine in (2005 manual 6 speed) the pocket just below the heater controls. Cut a hole in the back to feed the wires thru and used the dodge harness. It was a snap.

Hey guys,

I have flip down cup holders with the black ashtray in the middle.

I ran the wires through the flap at the back of the cup holders and then screwed the Prodigy to the removable ashtray. That way i can disconect the wires and just pop out the removable ashtray and close the cup holder when someone needs to sit in the middle. Ya i should have got a QC i know!

Put mine on the right side of the steering column on the lower dash panel. Great place to mount it, easy to get to, and I still have the entire dash storage space to put stuff... I would not like the dash mounts shown in the prior photos...

in the first picture it is mounted in an unused are no storage there on the 6 speed what is nice is there is an opening that goes under the dash so no exposed wires or holes to drill other than mounting holes & real easy acess for hand controls. i agree i wouldnt give up storage space either dont know if the other picture is an automatic or non just my 2 cents

Thanks you all for the replies and great suggestions. There were several locations I hadn't thought of and will explore.

I sure appreciate the help.

That looks exactly like mine, two small holes, wired through the slot (no cutting of anything) and the rest was east.
