Best Muffler

OK its time to do a little work to the exhaust system... For now I am going to keep the 3 inch system but replace the muffler and eliminate the resonator. What muffler would you guys recommend? I am not really interested in getting volume and don't want the dreaded drone. What I am looking for is about the same noise level in the cab with increased performance.

I have a 4" system on my truck with

the Walker 21471 and like it very much.

No drone, and I like the sound.



For the 3" system, I understandyou

would need the Walker 21468.

Do you tow???

I removed my muffler and straight piped my 3" from the reonator back (no drone). I replaced within 3 weeks with a 4". There really is a difference. a new 4" is about $500 including shipping, I would weigh this against how much you will spend for a muffler and if you are going to go to 4" at some point in the future. JMO

Diesel Doug has a nice set up on his 3500--pix on the "removed my silencer ring..... thread. he has two 3 ' pipes tied into a 4" downpipe dumped in front of the curb wheel. Don't know about the noise

you can get a RHINO RV muffler from a local muffler shop maybe, It a straight through muffler, if I kept my 3" system thats what I would have chose.
