I have to replace my front rotors that were only a year old because the hard brake pads wore them out. The OEM rotors are bad about getting heat cracks and are a waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

I'm thinking about going with slotted & dimpled rotors or slotted and cross drilled. The choices available are pretty vast. Brake Performance has dimpled and slotted rotors for $228 with a lifetime warranty. Other choices are Brembo, Sp Performance, Baer, Italia, and EGR and others.

Now comes pads. EGR carbon kevlar, Hawk super duty, EBC and others as well. I'd like to get some solid feedback. I don't want to just take a stab in the dark on this investment. If anyone has any upgraded caliper feedback I'd like to hear that as well.

My '01 had new brakes when I bought it and I haven't put enough miles on it to wear them out. However, my '00 got a set of the Hawk brakes from Geno's. They were a super improvement over stock in stopping power.

I think the best thing you can do is get a set of 3rd gen rotors and pads from any brands above and caliper brackets for say an 05 Ram 2500 4x4 from Mopar and you will be impressed. Only negative is the mandatory 17" or larger wheels. I can throw people through the windshield if I wanted as I have installed the Powerslots for an 05 and corresponding EBC severe duty pads on mine.
