Does any one know where the best price is for a 4inch downpipe for the 03 turbo elbow???

I ordered a 2004. 5 downpipe but now realize that the elbow is needed as the inlet is larger than my 03 elbow... And even if I found one, it would not hook to the smaller exhaust housing of the 03's turbo!

hmmm... any got any suggestions?

I was about to order that part for my '04 235hp SO. I'm glad you posted this info. I guess I'd like to know where I could find a good price on a 4 inch down pipe for the non 600 also. Anyone?

You might try Stans headers and Hog performance. My understanding is that the outlet size on the 2003-2004 turbo is the same size as the 2004. 5 . A 2004. 5 exhaust elbow should bolt right up. There are lots of elbows around from people having put exhaust brakes on. I remember reading somewhere Pacbrake mentioned that you could install the 2004. 5 exhaust brake on a 2003-2004 but you needed to also install 4 inch exhaust from the exhaust brake on.

HMMM, that is true, there should be a few elbows laying around from brakes being put on...

SO, anyone ?!?!?

I will just hope that the elbow will work on the 03 turbo then

thanks

Maybe Jelag from Pacific brake and clutch could verify if the 2004. 5 elbow will fit the 2003-2004. I found my 2004. 5 elbow by placing an add in the TDR classifieds

I don't want to make anyone mad but why not use the Banks down pipe? I know that some of the folks here think Banks=Bad. That is not the case with their down pipe. It replaces the cast elbow. You would have to fab it into your stock exhaust though. You know you are wanting 4" off the turbo, admit it Tommy. (it's good for EGTs)

Ahh yes, i admit, there is a part of me that will not be happy until I have 4 inch ALL THE WAY... no frecking 3. 5 inch adapters

but what about the $$$, does banks want an arm and a leg for the downpipe?

I really do not care if it is a banks downpipe, because i would think it would be hard to screw that up

EDIT - just called banks, they do not use the cast elbow, that go from the back of the turbo - $189

I guess I have to deciding to do

I remember reading on here that Holset was going to supply the cast elbow as a separate part. The 4" elbow number should be 4035657.

Marc

PS - i found a diesel shop that had one for $20 - and my mechanics sware they had three of them back on thier work bench

but they are all Missing in action

I guess i will just pay the $20

and I will call holset, too ,thanks everyone

tomeygun,

We have down pipes that connect with the turbo outlet casting in aluminized and stainless steel.

They are set up to connect with the rest of our MBRP systems but lots of guys buy them just for building stacks!

Mark @ DPPI

Ahh yes, would this be similiar to the banks downpipe?

does your downpipe totally eliminated that ugly cast 45 degree elbow??
