what is the best place to advertise a vehicle for sale. my last try was through autotrader.com and i didnt get one call about a pratically new dodge diesel. should i try several news papers in the metro area around me or what? should i give the autotrader a try again? are there some other online services i could try. is there any way to get my name to a wholesaler or locator type service that anyone is aware of? has anyone on here sold a vehicle on ebay?

give me your opinions please.

I have had poor results with nation wide internet car sales. I signed up for one, never got a call. They had a money back garantee, so I got my $65. 00 back. Most (or at least some) local newspapers also post thier print ads on-line.

Two years ago you could get guys lined up to buy one here, now they sit on lots for months. I think the Dmax and PSD have a lot to do with that, not to mention real crew cabs. Anyway, the only way I have ever been able so sell a vehicle to anyone but a family member was to 1) place it on a busy street with big for sale signs on it or 2) classified adds in the local paper. If you put an add in keep it short, then they will need to call for more info and you get an opportunity to SELL them the vehicle. ALWAYS put OBO on a for sale sign, give them hope of bargaining your price down, that gives you the opportunity to SELL them your vehicle. If you are not much of a salesman you may want to consider having a friend sell it for you. You can also call around to the used lots and see if they want to consign it for you, but you will likely get a couple grand less than you would in a private sale. Salesmanship makes a big difference in what you end up getting for a vehicle.

It is also going to help a TON to de-mod it as close to stock as you can get it. Sell the mods on here, and sell a STOCK truck. Modifications scare the bugger out of most buyers, me included, unless they know you personally.

Todd...

Send me the info out here and I'll see what I can get done for you. Or call me if you still have the phone number. I know someone who is shopping for a low milage ride... ..... Andy
