What type of application?

RG-8 is ok, but at that length you are going to have a bit of loss. . I forget of the top of my head. . but thought it was about 3 dB. RG-8 is the old ID for the cable. A better replacement would be RG-213, or one of its replacements.

If you are going to put this into a location where the cable will not be subject to being bent a lot... I would go with something like beldon 9913 or better.

I used the 9913 for my 440 Mhz repeater and also some ATV and Satellite work. I ran the 9913 up to just under the az-el rotator, where I installed a pre-amp and then ran rg-8 to the yagi.

You could see what Burghardt's wants for either cable or you could also check out http://www.hamradio.com/ to see what they would want.

Also, I see you are in Texas? Check out http://www.texastowers.com/

Hope that helps...
