If you have a gun shop that charges a small fee to use their FFL, you might consider this. find something like this Item # 27137353

http://www.gunbroker.com/

For me, if it is within a few bucks I would purchase locally, just so you can rack the slide/checkout the action.

My brother has used it multiple times, no complaints.

I got my . 22 at Wal-mart several years ago. Do you have a Gander Mountian or Dick's Sporting Goods store?

I think they are more into black powder rifles, but have you looked at Cabelas?

The Bass Pro shop? They have more than fishing stuff.

Personally I think you would run down to the Sportmans warehouse on 82nd and Johnson Creek, unless you have had a bad experience with them. However if you are looking for for something other than the run of the mill they won't have it. They do seem to carry some of the imported BPCR rifles, as well as a pretty good selection of muzzle loaders. Besides no sales tax. i have not purchased anything from them but was impressed by the selection they had compared to other stores in our area.

When I am just looking to see what is out there for sale I go to gunsamerica.com

seems to have good search functions and a lot of sellers.

If you are looking for something new then I would go to your local gun shop. I have gotten some good deals on used stuff at gunbroker, auctionarms, and gunsamerica. If you are looking for something in black, www.ar15.com, has a good equipment exchange forum. Use caution with stuff on the internet, I have not had problems but I know people that have.

Do you have a Curios and Relic FFL?

You fill out some paperwork you get from the ATF send in your $35. 00 for 3 yrs. , then you can directly order firearms that are on the C&R list or are at least 50 yrs. old. You can order from firms like AIM Surplus, Empire Arms, SARCO, Century Arms, Wholesale Guns & Ammo and vendors on Gunsamerica, Gunbroker, and Auction Arms. If you belong to a CMP affiliated Gun Club you can even order rifles from the Civilian Marksmanship Program.

If you're only interested in current manufacture firearms nevermind. But it'll also get you dealer prices from Midway and Brownells that can pay for the license in a jiffy. I just purchased two rifles from a guy that advertised on the for sale section in thehighroad.org. WWII issued Garand and a Springfield 03A3, they were in great condition and delivered right to my PO.

you can go to Northwest Armory on S. E. McLoughlin across the river in Portland/Milwaukee. Buying a rifle in Oregon is easy, you need to pay a $10. 00 fee of somesort, and they finger/thumb print you also.

If you are so inclined go to the gun show also.

I still get dealer catalogs from when I had my FFL.

I just have whatever I want sent to the local dealer, and pay them the $25. 00 transfer fee.

If I'm buying something with a hefty price tag, this could be a LOT of $$$$ in my pocket.
