You might try Mopar4less - I can't find their website or phone number right now though. It is a D/C sourced part so it's the same price or more at Cummins versus D/C. I bought one from a dealer about a month ago.

mopar4less

Thier phone number is (800) 748-2139. I talked to them a couple of days ago ... seems that their web server is hosed.

What were the symptoms?

Bringing this back to the top. I have 2001. 5 with the ETH. I just picked up my truck today after repalacing the TPS or AAPS under warranty.

What symptoms were you experiencing? I only have 9900 kms or around 6000 miles on mine. Several times in the last month when the truck would idle the motor would increase up to around 1300 RPM at the highest and then drop down to normal. The RPM would change continously if it was in one of its moods. It would not do this all time. Two weeks ago when we were heading off with the 5ver and boat in tow for a little R&R, about 10 miles from home I slowed down to go through our little town. When I wanted to keep the speed I pressed down on the go peddle. NO GO!!! What the #$#%, this not my idea of R&R. The motor would idle but the the motor would not respond when I pushed on the accelerator. I turned off the motor waited about 10 seconds started the motor and then it worked normally except the engine light was on. On my way to the lake we were to pass a Dodge dealer. I called ahead asked if they could check it out. An error code from the TPS showed up. The rest of the 4 hour trip was uneventful. On the way home drove about 10 miles again and I noticed the motor surging a little. I made sure I held my foot steady and I could feel it surge again and again. Then no throttle response. I shut it down, waited and then started it. The the motor accelerated normally. When I got back I called the sevice manager and he agreed, replace the TPS. He said the way they had to order the TPS he thinks that DC suspects there might be a problem. Initially the way the motor surged I thought it might be air in the fuel line. The service manager said he had not heard of any situation like mine. Has anyone else had this problem?

Sorry about the long post but I thought I would give my experience.

Stan, I have had trouble with my truck surging but it was only after i installed my powermax3. on a few occasions it has leaped forward while just keeping a constant speed and once while slowing down for an exit. I never suspected my AAPS to be the culprit.

I'll have to put a scan tool on it and monitor it for a few days. altough it only seems to do it when its rainy or real humid. (the leaping part)
