Anyone got some advice for me wich mobile operator that have the best plans and coverage for a pre-paid service? I don't know the different companies or services so well so any help will be good.
I live in Norway, but I'm visiting US 3-6 weeks every year where I travel a lot. Lately it have been mostly along the west coast, but I want to use it all over the states if needed. My base are now Seattle where I spend a lot of my time in that area. I use my Norwegian cell phone over there, but roaming are killing me (up to $2 pr. minut) and the coverage are very poor.
So what I'm looking for are a cheap phone where I can add minutes whenever I need to. I will use it to mainly be availible anywhere and make mostly instate calls. For overseas I use a calling-card. I checked out T-Mobiles prepaid plan and that seemed OK for my use. Cingular seemed just to have plans where you prepay a certain amount of minutes every month within a contract, that won't work for me. Or could I just get a new SIM-card to put into my Norwegian phone? Most likely that won't work I guess since we are using 900mhz and 1800mhz band in Europe but my SonyEricsson also have the American 1900mhz band.
Thanks
Stig
