best price for ez?

we are about to buy an ez for my father's truck, and was trying to find the best price to order one. i don't need it installed, just need to buy one. we are very interested in ordering online or on the phone by credit card; just wondering who has the best price out there. any ideas?

At the time I bought mine Fred Swanson at desertdieselparts.com had the best price and I was impressed with the service.

There are usually a few in the classifieds all the time. Lots cheaper than anyones new price too. VA and a boost module is hard to beat too if you find one for sale, both went for about $310 together recently in the classifieds . Keep your eyes open and you will hit a great deal.

They were great to deal with. I did a lot of poking around and the best price I found at this time was 549. 00 and most of them seemed to be at that price (smokindiesel, piers, also desertdieselparts which I just checked) as well as a few others.



I also found out that the reason that Edge wants 650. 00 for the box off of their website and the retailers are asking so much less is that Edge has an agreement with the retailers not to under-price them, so they basically want to deal with the retailers and want you to deal with them as well as the consumer and the financial incentive is there for you to do so.



I was hesitant to buy it from the classifieds although there were some available because I was concerned about what would happen to the warranty or returnability since I wasn't the original buyer; also, even if the warranty is 2yrs from Edge, if the original owner had it for a year now I only have a 1 year warranty on it and if it goes kablooey now I'm stuck with a $350. 00 paper weight. I was satisfied to spend the extra $200. 00 for the piece of mind that a 2 year warranty brings me.



FWIW after speaking with Al from Piers he advises me that the original problem they had with some of the boxes dying seems to have been resolved, he says for the past year or two they've sold over 500 some-odd EZ units and only a couple have been returned as defective at some point so it looks like Edge has the gremlins worked out.
