Travelin Ram, that does not sound like a very good deal to me. First of all, what is the sticker price of the vehicle. From that you should deduct 10. 5% to give you approx. invoice cost to dealer. Then the rebates should be deducted. Even then the dealer still makes about $1200 in holdback plus any special Dodge sales incentives. By way of example and maybe comparison, I could have purchased a new 03 2500 Laramie loaded which stickered at $42525 for $33211 after rebates.

TravlinRam,

That is too much! Try this site, Edmunds.com !

You can see what dealer invoice is and what Edmunds considers a fair price. Again, I bought mine for $1,432 under dealer invoice and then the rebates off of that! After rebates, I paid just over $36,000.

See my signature for details of my truck.

It is suppose to be in Spokane this week! :D I should have it next week! Yahoooo!

Big Bob--I went to order a 2004 last month and they closed the door the same day! Now I see that (apparently) Cummins has an engine without EGR or cat for 2004. 5 and that the rebates are still around. This is good because I can't find an 04 that fits my bill. Do you think your guy in Spokane (I am Mt Vernon on the Left coast) would be open to the same deal you wrangled? I can tell em' Big Bob sent me. Once I get it we can let the NW Bombers analyze it! geusterman

geusterman,

I have no doubt that Butch will cut you an excellent deal! Do your homework on Edmunds.com so you know where you will be as far as dealer cost.

Let me know when you are ready to deal with Butch and I will let him know you are going to call.

You can PM or email me, I would be happy to give you my phone number and we can talk.

You can use my name and I'll try and help you any way I can.

Got a thousand dollar coupon for RAM if anyone in Salt Lake wants to take possession of it. It's for Garff West Valley Dodge. I won't be using it, but you can have it.

Here in NY, I just ordered my 04. 5 for invoice -3000. Could only get $31000 for my 03 quad Laramie DRW. Best deal anyone would give me.

make sense, i guess the 3000 was a total of the $2500 rebate and $500 from dealer?

"Matt is close to caving"

I'd be closer if I found the perfect truck for the right deal.

Fireman Dave thinks I'll have one by Fall '04. I think it'll be long before then... :-laf

The Farm Bureau card hasn't arrived yet... I sent out the stuff, though.

Here are the must-haves:

New or used - '03 or '04

4x4 - quad-cab, short bed... 2500 or 3500... doesn't matter

305hp/555ft-lbs engine

6-speed

3. 73:1 with the limited slip in the rear

basic SLT stuff...

fold flat floor in the back

tow mirrors

Anything above and beyond that would be a plus, but isn't necessary...

I want a light colored monotone truck... . except for Almond... . and it has to have the dark slate interior... . unless I am convinced otherwise that the taupe is decent.

If I could find an ST with all the right stuff, I would go for that as well...

There are quite a few trucks out there that match this description... . and most of them have been on dealer lots since mid-summer '03.
