Best Route from 29 Palms, California to Corbin, Kentucky

I know you all will know the best route, I got a 99 2500 4x4 and towing a 27Ft travel trailer. I'm thinking about I-10 through Texas and hit I-20 through to Alabama to I-75? Any suggestions on smooth routes? Worried about hitting snow in Flagstaff. My trip is in 2 weeks. Transferring with the Marine Corps, 23 years and still serving, heading to Camp Lejeune after the stopover in Kentucky.

Took that route I10 to I20 last year from Redondo Beach,CA to EdistoBeach,SC was good except one nasty lane exit in Dallas. Definitely would not trust 40 for another month. To avoid Atlanta 75 I would consider going up I 59 at Birmingham to 75. Hope you have a safe and uneventful trip.

59 has a pretty rough right lane but when I went through a few weeks back the traffic was light If you want pretty specific info on roads and routes try the Motorhome magazine web site(click here) (http://www.motorhomemagazine.com/cforum/index.cfm/fuseaction/listings/forum/30.cfm) You can get all kinds of info, fuel stopover construction etc. No cost to register. With all the money you'll save by moving out of California any route to the east is good, snow or no snow .



I would stay off I-40 though. I-10 is clear sailing, great weather right now, flowers blooming, etc.
