To you guys that are plugged in the the rv industry.
We have a friend who wants to sell her 35 foot rv. She is wondering about what might be the best time of year to try to sell it. I'm thinking now is a good time to start, but I don't know.

Her husband died a few years ago, and her son in law is supposed to be trying to sell it for her. But I dont think he is trying very hard.

Probably about now for the next few months prior to the beginning of camping season (for our northern friends, anyway).

Yeh, I was thinking about now as well since Ive been hearing that the mfgs are getting busy and selling new ones.
One of her problems is that I think her daughter and son in law really dont want her to sell it. They want it to be available for them to use. And she thinks they are trying to sell it for her. I dont think it is even being advertised.
She never uses it. I forget the make, but its a really nice one and she can really use the money.
We may have to intervene on her behalf and help her to sell it.

I threw my class C up a couple of weeks ago just for giggles. I actually have had quite a bit of traffic on it but the 0 degree weather and foot and a half of snow have slowed things down considerably.

When you list it people will try and bust you down on price. You have to know what the going price is for the condition its in and hold your ground with them. Start high, you can always come down some, but its hard to go up.
Advertise in the local media, or as cheap as you can. Sounds like you might have to step in to help the poor lady out.
Tractorat; I go to NADA, and search the RV's for prices as a guide line and then research the local going price. of the same unit. Seattle has good weather now and it should move with little hitch. Good luck, your a good person to step in to help.

Here in the mid-west where I live the first of March is a great time to think about selling. At that time there is a hint of springtime in the air with Robins starting too look for worms and typically there is an RV show in town.

I just sold my class C this weekend. The only place I advertized was craigslist. I put up a very descriptive add with many photos. Of course I got the obligatory "5 thousand?", "I'll pay you your $18,000 price if you will let me pay $300/month for the next 5 years," and the "No way I'm paying over Kelly Bluebook value" crap but in the end, I ended up with the right buyer who didn't ask for a penny less. I ended up throwing quite a few extras back (~$100 worth of stuff) in the camper when they came to pick it since they didn't beat me up on my price. I figure I'm still $900 ahead of where I thought I'd be.

I know a good add when I see it on Craigslist and I have not been disappointed on anything with a good add when I have gone to see it. Once I went to look at a small Toyota class c. The add was sketchy and so was the camper. Lesson learned.
