Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Best timing for max MPG?

98 12 V, #10 plate, BHAF, straight piped.



I've read this: http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/FAQ/timing.htm but would like what others have found.



The truck is a daily driver and rarely tows anything.

Mine is set at 16. 5 deg. and with complete right foot control :{ excellerating slowly to 65 and not going any faster I've been getting 22 mpg. This is with an 11 plate, stock turbo, bhaf, stock exhaust minus cat. I also run on 235/85/16's with no speedo adjustment. So I set the speedo at ~62 mph and that translates to very close to 65. I also have an aftermarket front bumper which I thought would have lowered my mileage, but I'm not sure it has.

I have no idea what any different timing setup would be other than stock timing which the best I ever got was 20 mpg, again setting the cruise at 65.
