my truck is a 96 auto that has been converted to a 6 speed so far i have

180 pump since it was an auto

3k gsk

#10 plate

16. 5* timing

AFE progaurd 7

4" stright pipe

looking at adding

300 injectors

191 DV or the city diesel high flow DV

switzer F300 62 comp housing and 12 or 14 exhaust

SBC 12cb 3600 dual disk

would this be a good set up

is the 12 or 14 exhaust housing better

what delivery valves are the best

and would the 370 injectors be better than 300 or will the incorrect spray angle affect my milage too much

how much power could i expect to see out of this set up

this truck is a daily driver and i want to keep my good milage when im easy on the pedal

thanks

Ken I would go with the turbo Brady was talking about with the mods you listed and a set of 300 HP honed injectors from Industrial. Stay with the 10 plate for EGT control on the top end. Everything else looks good.

the sps62/80 i guesing it the super phat shaft 62 comp 14 exhaust

what is the difference between the sps62/80 and the htb2 62/14 and the gillett diesel f300 modified 62/14 modified with better berings and shaft extended tip comp

from what i can tell they are all using switzer borg warner parts and all the turbos seem to be the same all dual port wast gate and everything htt and gillet say that they have drive to boost pressure ratios around 1 and ID claims that there Super Phat Shaft has a lower than 1 drive to boost pressure

is it just me or does ID's claim seem inpossible idealy 1:1 is 100% efficent lower than that you are getting more enegry out of the turbo than you are puttin in

the other question i have is ID says the super phat shaft con olny be a 14 or larger houseing cause the design wont fit in a 12 housing without machining the housing too thin and i have heard without cam or head porting the 12 valve doesent flow enough air to spool a housing bigger than 12 efficently is there any truth to this

Remember that some clip the turbine wheel and that will give you lower drive pressure but you will sacrifice spoolup time. Its all a give and take. Just food for thought.

I'd go with Dynomite diesel stage 3 or 4 injectors if you can afford them. 3's are like 370's power wise but with the correct spray angle. 4's are like 50 HP more. IMO 370's suck, hot EGT's and fuel mileage drop 1-2 MPG, and the 300's weren't worth the money. I plan to get stage 3's eventually, I dislike the 300's they only give like 30 HP maybe.

Thats a little overkill on the clutch for that setup but hey if you got the money why not go more than less. The Con OFE 13'' would be plenty for that setup, or even the FE for room for future upgrades.

An HTB2 would flow plenty for your mods as well. I'd go with the 14cm housing for sure. Forget 191's, you already have 181's in your stock pump so it's not worth the money. Go with city diesel's DV's.

i know the clutch is overkill but i know i plan on going to twins eventually and dont want to wast money on a clutch now just to turn around and chang it again in a year or two

another reasone i picking this turbo is so a can later add a s400 and use the f300 as my top turbo
