i want to buy or build a twin turbo kit once and only once. i would like to make somewhere around 500-550 hp and can you guys tell wich one to buy and or what size turbos i need to accomplish this also what clutch for my 98 12v project truck . 5000 ft elevation.

mworner,

Give J. R. Adkins a call at (317)281-3130, he can build you what you need. He will answer any questions that you have. I ran a set of his twins and they flat out rocked  I would say you would have good luck with an HX-40 and a HT3B. I beleive he can point you in the right direction for a clutch also.

Yeah definately give J. R. a call. A very nice guy and definately go with a South Bend Clutch. He can direct you the right way there also. Call him and tell him what you want and he will build it!!

Piers makes a great twin kit... . Actually he has several depending on your HP and driving requirements. They are excellent kits that supply all of the components needed to install. This makes it nice when installing that you aren't trying to make brakets, lines, or are in need of bolts or fittings.

BD Twins ?

Is anyone running the BD twin setup for the 3rd Gens? I am considering twins, I broke a shaft on my current turbo.

???

Steve

4xquadrod, I have seen the BD kit. It looks OK, but if I were going to put up the money for a twin kit, I would look elsewhere.

Why look elsewhere?..... Price, quality, performance, durability or what?

I'm thinking it would be for performance. I could be wrong but seems their kits look to be a little less aggressive or powerful?

Also Piers and others have been having fun with this stuff for a while now.

Has anyone tried the Schied/Haisley kit? Maybe it is someone elses, but I am talking about the one they sell (usually seen displayed on a p7100 24v). Their shop trucks certainly give them some credit with me...

I rode in the twins that IdahoCTD/Nathan built for his truck and all I can say is :--), spool up is sweet, EGT's are great, and quality of the kit is awesome. Turbo's are custom, and by the driveability you can tell. He even let me drive it. When I get my 3rd Gen his kit will be the set that I get. :)

Not one to brag but I like my setup, it's just like the PDR Twins but with the Big Brother on bottom, That seemed like the ticket a year ago but that dang PDR bunch just keeps on re-enventing the wheel.

I've had allot of good times, big numbers and fun with my setup and my guess is it will stay the same for this year... ... ... unless Piers wants me to R&D a different top turbo.

I'm quite sure anyone's Twins are lots of fun, once you go to them you will not go back.

Yep, I have a friend that put that kit on. Very nice kit with great performance. He put the twins on himself, but when he had it down there for a fire-ring job, he also had them put a cam in. Currently he's running mach 6's with an ez, and is retardedly underfueled. Just a light haze and <1100F pre-turbo with a 5 speed and 35" tires at WFO all the way through the gears with about 55psi max.

PM me for more details...
