Who makes a 4" exhaust kit from turbo to tail that is lower in price than say, $600. Does my 2000 non HO six speed have a catalitic convertor? Thanks.

Get Ripped!!!

The price can't be beat. I have his 4' turbo to tail w/o muffler and love it. Did the install in my driveway in about an hour. Stainless systems are great and duals are cool, but for the price I'd rather get ripped:D

Got two........

Have Jardines system on one truck and Rip Rook's on the other. Both are high quality systems, sound great, and installed easily. Both are well under $600 also.

If you would like more details please E-mail me.

THinking of getting Jardine's. How does it sound in comparisson to the others? THis truck is our daily driver, for now, so don't want the obnoxious sound driving up to church (yet ;) ) Any help is MUCH appreciated!

I have a Jardine system on my truck and I'm real happy with it. I don't notice a large difference in sound but everyone that hears it says they do. The combination of this exhaust and a edze ez really cooled my EGT's (about 200 degrees).

EGT drop

Ray,

Do you have specific number for each component? In english: how much of the 200 degrees are accounted for by the EZ and how much by the exhaust? I'm contemplating Rip's system to complement my EZ and DDII's.

Talk to me before you pull the trigger. Might have something of interest for you if the timing is right :D

Loren,

I'm sorry I don't have specific numbers. Like an idiot I put them on at the same time and didn't install them one at a time to note each one's effect. My EGT's would shoot over 900 degrees (post turbo) anytime I got on it at WOT or pulling the local 7% grade. I can't get it above 700 degrees since the day I installed the exhaust and the EZ. One of these days I'll take the EZ out and test it with just the exhaust.

to answer the question. Does my truck have "cat"... . no it does not.

Also, lowering EGT..... numbers are completely subjective... . and sometimes what you see posted here is BOGUS!

Bogus in the respect that every truck is different, and the egt drop on one truck (if at all) may not be achieved on another for more reasons that I have time to list.

It's a well known fact (at least in this part of the country) that an EZ a 4" exhaust and a better air filter will produce a noticeable drop in EGT's. Of course the amount of the drop is dependant on each individual’s circumstances. To say it's "bogus" or "if at all" is a bit naive.

call it what you will, but I am tired of "blanket" statements of "x product" will lower EGT "X" degrees when the individual (read: Vendor) has not done any scientific testing and has just run his truck up a hill.

Here is a question for you... ... why does lowering turbine drive pressure lower EGT, but do nothing for lowering peak combustion temperatures at the same power level on the same engine using the same turbo compressor... . basicly just swapping out turbine housings?

Scientific testing? I'm stating my personal experiences with my Edge EZ, Amsoil air filter and Jardine exhaust while running my truck "up a hill" unloaded.

I have no idea what the answer to your question is but I am trying to figure out what it has to do with the topic at hand (which exhaust to go with)?

Back to my original point... . I'm very happy with my Jardine exhaust for a lot less than $600.
