Ok, whats everyones opinion on the best wax to use on the truck. I'm sure this is all over the map but just wondering if the is one brand used most often

I use products from Griot's Garage, and love the whole system. I have their buffers and once a year I claybay the paint, buff out any surface marks and use their onestep wax/sealant. After every wash I use their spray on wax, this keeps my truck looking great for the year. I have used their products on my last 2 truck!

Duragloss or Zaino. Zaino Z2 and ZFX or Duragloss 601/105 Last up to a year and probably longer in my applications. Both of these are sealants not a wax. Where I live waxes fade away pretty fast.

I have used almost every product on the market so far the only product that I keep going back to is the 3 step process by Glipton (not sure if that's how you spell their name). First step after washing is their body gloss and the clay bar to really clean the paint. Next step is the paint cleaner and polish. Follow that with their Paint sealer with Teflon. This stuff gives a deep shine that lasts with just normal washings for about 5-6 months. Visit their web site you'll be happy with the results.

My Sig truck is my first Dually... I use the spray on stuff. It's a black truck and it's garaged and not a daily driver. It gets washed about every other month unless I've been out in the desert and it's covered in that abrasive dust. I must say, you need to pack a lunch when it's time to wash it. It takes me about an hour and a half to wash/dry/clean the interior. I can't imagine adding a wax job to that.

I'm figuring every 3 years I'll spend the $400~$500 to take it to a detail shop and let them do the buffing and polishing!

I use "Nu finish" one a year wax. I have used it for several years, paste, not liquid it it really does a good job, cheap and water beads for a while. I use a RV wash/wax soap for washes.

Asking for the "best" product will give you many different replies but that's ok. Looking for the best wax really depends on your preference, budget and how much time you're willing to spend to get the right result. In my case, I'm very pleased with Zaino. Been using it for many years. It is not a wax but can give you much better result.

I'm surprised at the popularity of the Zaino stuff. I knew Sal Zaino and remember when they were starting in the wax biz. Corvette guy from Brooklyn. I've never actually tried the stuff as I always thought an actual wax was better.
Now with my sig truck, I do clay it when I can (from windows down) and it really gets the junk out, but I'd like a more durable coating/ wax. Been using meguiars gold paste or similar. The water bead goes away real fast as it's a DD and the winters are rough around here.

I've never tried any machine. Too afraid to screw up! And yes pack a lunch and plenty of water!!

I've been sold on the Zaino product line for quite a while. Sal runs a pretty tight ship- order in/product out really fast. You don't have to do the full treatment all the time, once you've applied the base. Saves lots of elbow grease on our moderately sized trucks... <G>

For all you Zaino guy's. I used Zaino exclusively for10+ years, Z2 Pro and ZFX. In the last 1 1/2 years or so I have been using Duragloss 501 105 111 101 601 sealants and bonding agent. I have also been using the rinseless with Aqua Wax and straight Aqua Wax. In other words I have used almost everything Duragloss makes. The 601 can be applied seperately or mixed in the mix, the 601 is like ZFX but the cost difference is substantial. The 111 is a pure sealant like Z2. I have had the 601/105on the Daughters car for over a year now with rinseless washings and spurts of Aqua Wax, the Wife's van has had 601/105 for close to a year with the same treatments. This whole thing started when I was looking for something to use on a 32' gelcoat 5th wheel that would last at least 6 months so I invested in some 652, 601 and 105. That combination lasted over a year with random Aqua Wax applications and rinseless washings. Well past my expectations. When real washings are required I use 901 which is a great soap/shampoo. I am in the midst of doing the truck now with claying, 652 with a DA and hand applying 601/111 with a microfiber applicator. If you are interested in DG's products you can check them out here
