Best Way to Drain Automatic Trans.

How can I drain my Auto. Trans and do a good job? Awhile back I saw a post on how to start the engine while draining and then the Trans. pump would pump out the TC. But I can't find it now using the search.

Is this really possible without damaging the trans?



I have a Mag-Hytec on the Trans, so Thank Heavens I don't have to take a shower in red fluid anymore!

You can disconnect the output line to the cooler and run the truck in N until the fluid flow stops. There will only be a little fluid remaining after this. Other method is to loosen the 12 or so bolts on the TC after dropping the pan, this will also drain out most of the fluid.
