EZ???

What is the EZ where do you get it and how hard is it to install?? Cost?? I am still pretty new to the diesel realm and was considering the propane injection system until i read a lot of negative things about head gaskets and etc. I would like to know more about the EZ system i have raed about in this post?? Can a shadetree mechanic install it? Thanks, Tim.

The Edge EZ is only for the 24v engine. So it will not work on your 12v. You should look in the 12v Engine and Drivetrain forum for the tips and hints on what to do to yours. Your options are fuel plate, custom pump work, and injectors for more power.

I had just the DDTT and had no increase in smoke. I added 275's and now I will smoke at low boost but its not that bad. I have it on the middle setting which fuels above 3 psi. I'm sure I could almost eliminate all of the smoke if I changed the setting to fuel above 20 psi.

Middle setting should add fuel around 10 to 15psi, I forget the exact number.

The powershot2000 system will give you exactly what you are looking for. Safety, power, mpg, no-smoke. Talk to them. They are very straightforward about the system they sell and it is a good system.

big mak , back to 275's ??? i agree , the dd3's have turned me into a smoker , and i have a set of the new lower power ones , can't imagine how the others were .

saw the aftermath of a 12v with 370's and bigger delivery valves , along with autowurks tinkering on the pump  only time its don't smoke is idling , it is a smoking pig , kinda funny , but the woman jogging the other day on the test ride didn't think so , i felt bad for her ... no i wasn't in control of the smoke pedal ...

i too would like a little less smoke .

My truck smokes less with the DD11s then the 275s. Although I did notice about a 100 degree increase in EGTs under a load. The EZ and injectors is well worth the money spent.

with hot power edge- smoke. Added K&N 0880 almost smokeless. Added powershot 2000, brown smoke, awesome progressive power:)

BD II's/BHAF/No Smoke

When I running with just my BullyDog Step II's and my Comp off, I have NO smoke after I installed the moparguy's BHAF. Not even in low boost. Once I touch even level one (sub-level one) on the Comp, it is a freight train. The power with just the Step II's is great. Running about 28 psi of boost and 1050 max EGT's.

Eric

Edit. This is the how I tow my new white horse trailer with and don't have a problem with soot build-up.

If you don't mind scotchlocking to the injection pump wire you can get a 10 level street TST Powermax3 and it shouldn't smoke at all - even turned all the way up. If you add injectors to it then it will smoke though. That will add 120 hp and 360 ft/lbs of torque to the ground. The box is CARB certified which means that they had to basically prove it wouldn't smoke. One warning - you will slip your stock clutch with this box on the higher levels.

Start with the EZ. Then if you feel you need more power go with mild injectors. On a stock truck, the EZ alone will make a difference, but if you add injectors, are you ready to replace downstream components? Clutch or TC/VB.

SInce you're towing heavy, be cautious whatever you decide on.
