i just got into an auto from an 06 with the G56. i loved that transmission. geared lower than heck but it just shined with 35" tires. nice short throws that go into gear easy. i would love to have that behind this 24v.

I would love a six speed, I just got the impression that they were like twice the price, 3200, compared to 1700 for the 5 speed, I guess I'm just gonna have to see what I can get a deal on

Where are you located? I know a guy who sells complete rebuilt NV4500. The guy had a fresh rebuild sitting on the shelf when I was there... . he said $1500. The hydraulics are available from Southbend Clutch..... better than stock. Advanced Diesel Technology has the SB hydros for $250 shipped. I just bought a SB kit... . very sweet & heavy duty.

I'm just south of Portland, ME. Thats a real good price on a rebuilt unit, but what does he charge for a core, I dont have one so I'm either goona look around for a cheap core or just pay the core charge.

You just installed the SB hyds and DD right, how do you like the clutch? I plan on similar mods to you and was wondering if I should plan on a DD or try to get away with less of a clutch. Did you have to get a new input shaft, to go with the dd unit? how is it on the street?

I spend a lot of time at a friends in North Berwick. I can get you a test drive in a truck with a DTT trany in it if you think you would like to try it. I am very happy with the auto now... George
