Eletrical question

G-Tech has Competition

I spent a little extra last year to get a pump cover that "pierces the wire". I've had to re-tighten that thing three times. The last time, I ran the screw all the way down and the cure lasted less than a week.

Now I'm ready to use a wire nut!

Actually I'd like a nice solder joint covered in heat shrink. Anybody got the parts/sources/info on something like that?

Heck the wire nut doesn't sound that bad now that I think about it. :D

soldering is the best connection

but I used a tst grabber and it worked great

i also used the pump cover and went through the same procedure as you , it made me very nervous

I just decided to bite the bullet and soldered the pump wire. 18 months and at least 30K miles, inclusing 2 dirty hunting trips, and no issues yet...

well, that didn't help

Pulled it all apart, "pierce job" looks good. Moved ground to better place. Still have problem.

Worried that it might be the pump. HOPE that it's in the UFM.

Truck has a pulsation at medium to heavy load. It's not as bad as when the wire wasn't tapped properly. It goes away with box off.

It's not consistent. I can hammer it, feel the pulsation--back out and then hammer again and it accelerates smoothly. Sometimes.

Idears?

Check that your 12v positive connection is good. You could have an intermittent connection there which is causing a problem. I know of a number of people who had problems with the 12v connection on their Powermax's.

I've re-tapped the pump wire, run the ground straight to the battery, and cleaned all connections at battery.

We're chasing the "hesitation" in another thread.

see "hesitation with no codes".
