OK.. let the floodgates open.. My truck has been sitting for a few weeks, last time I drove it I guess I wore out the wipers on my drive back from MO to NC. (they were fine then) I hit the wipers to knock of the rain in it was Whaaap..Whaaap... the rubber in the middle separated from the backing and was banging the glass. My first thought when I heard it was dag-nabit.. my warranty ended a few weeks ago and what in the he11 is that noise!!

Anyway... need to get a new set, raining for the foreseeable future here... Any recommendations??

I haven't bought any in years, but ran RainX on my 04 with decent results. OEM? Only got 3y out of them, truck mostly stored inside, they were good till they weren't. I have had mixed results with otheres, (Costco Goodyear, etc). Seems like you cannot count on brand names anymore, side bar, I bought a new thermal fan clutch for my Chevelle, paid extra for the "Four Seasons" and it was a piece of garbage, terrible tolerance and I ended up sending it back.

I use rain-x. I’m about to reapply the rain repellant and swap my OEM blades out. They are working ok, but rain-x work better.

Whatever brand Costco is selling at the time . :) Seem to work as good as any , usually replace every 2-3 years . Plus not spending a fortune.

Yeah I like coating the windows.. I often drive w/o wipers on as unless its raining hard the water simply sheets right off.

I had - Mopar, Bosch, RainX, Michelin.
The Michelins have been by far the best ones, hands down.
Longest lasting, clear view, no chattering even at age.
Exposed to the blasting sun for 2 summers.

Blade style of course..

I'm very picky about my wipers, if there is any noise from them, any stripes - they go. So usually once a year. The Michelins didn't.

I got the $9 Michelin metal frame ones and love them. I'll replace them in a year. I've tried them all and the metal frame ones seem to press down better on the windshield. I'm in San Diego so the rubber construction might not work in cold climates. I'm like you and will chuck them in a year. What I've found out too is cleaning the windshield with a vinegar mix and a Magic Eraser removes water marks and irregularities. I follow up with Costco's window cleaner in the cans and two microfiber cloths. One for cleaning and another for buffing. The microfiber cloths and the same window cleaner have finally got rid of the eternal grease fog inside of the windshield. The yellow Costco ones really scrub with glass. Even polishing takes some effort.

Paid attention to my OEM blades on the drive home today, the passenger side is starting to streak. 19.7K miles and 17 months. Garage kept.

I hate Rain-X.

I use the Motorcraft beam wipers on all our vehicles. We use them on all our support vehicles at work. They hold up well and we get a good deal on them. Michelin’s are good, too, just more expensive for me.

I’ve found wipers get dirty and if you’ll wash the edges good when they start streaking that’s really all thats wrong with them.

Once the edge ist gone they never come back. It's all about the rubber compound.

I like the idea with the Magic Eraser, that's a very good one. I'll remember that next time to get my window really clean before the rainy season.

I have used the MOPAR blades for 20 years and like them a lot. BUT, I recently tried the single bar Michelin's from Costco and I REALLY like them.

I HATE , repeat HATE HATE HATE anything like Rain-X. Problem is when there is a very light mist it leaves a film and that is
NO-BUENO when a car is coming at you in the dark.

I only have that problem without rain-x, or if it’s improperly applied. With properly applied rain-x that’s never been an issue. I’ve bought rain-x and applied it to get rid of the glare driving at night on rental cars without it.

The only time rain-x leave a visible film is when it’s incorrectly applied. Correctly applied it’s an improvement 110% of the time.

It’s easy to hate anything used incorrectly.
