WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hear a lot of whining out there!!!!!!!!!!!

Betrayed??????? Was this a scam set up byDC? You got to be kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be happy you have what you have... ..... I wish as do many others on this website that we could afford a 2003 dodge ram with CTD but have to settle for my old but mega-reliable 1995 CTD... ... I cant afford to replace this until Fall of 2005... ... ... . However I did promise to keep this truck for 11 years and I will. Just installed Larry B's starter contacts 2 hours ago. When I buy again I will keep my 2006 for 11 years also.

I dont want to hear about feeling betrayed... ... ... . My little 160/400 is the lowest rating around but I still love my truck.....

DRIVE PROUD... ..... DRIVE LOUD

Betrayed BIG TIME!

I too fell extremely betrayed by DC!!

Why, I've been watching the commercials on the boob tube for the new 2004 Ford F-150. Did you know that it has the heaviest and strongest welded steel frame of ANY other full size pickup? It has the highest towing capacity of ANY other full size pickup? It has by far the most cup holders?? I think it even has a first aid kit. You guys better WAKE UP! Ford wouldn't lie to US!

But seriously, I'm real happy with my '03 CTD 48RE.

Hey Dan, forgot to mention that absolute noiseless rid at speed over the rough stuff  How do they ever do that?

Yes I been watching but won't be buying anytime soon.

Yeah, and Ford kept the same overhead cam piece of junk Triton engine with a million miles of hose, wire, and emissions stuff crammed into a compartment that requires removal of the front clip to change the spark plugs. I wonder how long those belts driving the cams last and how much that service would cost a non-do-it-yourselfer? Why don't they ever point out the bad stuff in their "Best Selling Truck in the Milky Way over the last million Years" advertisements. I love picking on Ford. They might have something if they can get a little John Deere 4 or 5 cylinder diesel in one of those boxes. :)

I LOVE picking on Ford also since the Ford Foundation (funded by Ford) spends millions of dollars a year supporting environmental groups who specifically target responsible family based access of motorized recreation on public lands. It just kills me to see a Ford commercial that has an ATV or dirtbike in the back, or see a Ford 4x4 tearing up the trails, and then KNOWING for a fact that Ford is spending millions to close off lands to people that would use their Ford product to access these lands.

I'll bet the new Ford F-150 diesel will be a Kabota, Yanmar or Izuzu engine. Maybe a Chinese or Pakistan engine. ;)

Being an owner of an ATV myself, I know first hand about closing off land. Texas just passed a law that will not allow the passing of any waterway (ie a river or creek). Free country getting more communist all the time. Anyway, I'm sure Ford will put any diesel that they get for the right price, and then rebadge as an American product.

OMG! I didn't know that... . thats a big no-no in our family. Do you have any links or other info supporting that statement? That is just too sick.

Thats good! got some laughs going here! :D

in one of the F150 commercial where they talk about how quiet the truck is over the bumps, look at the speedometer. it is sitting at ZERO while the scenery is moving outside. think they pulled some digital hocus pocus?

they only show the interior shot for a few seconds, you have to pay attention.

Having taken delivery of my 2004 on 10/28/03 I admit I felt a tinge of betrayal when I read about the 325/600. Then I got in my truck and drove it and the feeling left. When I launch that 7000+# truck onto the interstate from a merge ramp, other truck owners take notice! Isn't it funny that DC raised the rating just after Ford came out with the 6. 0 that supposedly bested the CTD by 20hp and 5(!) pounds of torque! I'll bet you that DM Isuzu goes on steroids in the very near future! Wait till that increased power hits those aluminum heads--that should be fun to watch. DEJA VU! Hey, the Cummins engine is not the weakest link in our drivetrain.

Matt400, try the following links. The really good ones that specifically described Ford's efforts to block access on public lands have been removed. I guess it would not be totally fair to say that some of their donations specifically targeted motrized recreation, but... ... ... . if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it's a... ... ... ..... Believe all or only that you feel comfortable with, the Internet is full of mis-information. You may have to copy and paste the links in order to get them to work properly.

Wow... . I don't think I will ever look at a Ford the same way after consuming that info. The staged interview with Super Hunky was awesome reading- very entertaining.

Thanks for those links! :)

BETRAYED??? Get over it man. That is the natural progression of things. What are they supposed to do? Stop improving the truck?

You want to hear a betrayal story, I have one for you. I own a couple G-Class Mercedes trucks, the box shaped Land Rover looking ones now popular in rap videos:rolleyes: Mercedes Benz never imported these to the US until 2002, they have been in production since 1979. There was a guy in NM bringing them into the states. When MB fitted the 5L V8 to the truck in '99 he was selling new G500's for $135,000. He then sold the importation rights back to MB for a reported $30 million. Now MB comes in and starts selling the trucks for $70k, nearly half without any warning. Now you have guys that dropped $135k on a truck in 2000-2001 whose trucks now sell on the open market for $40-45k. Talk about depreciation:eek: how about $90k in 1-2 years time.

The '03 values will be just fine. This was nothing out of the ordinary, enjoy your trucks!
