Better quality air filter?

Does Mopar or Fleetguard make an air filter that is better than what the recommended OEM AF27684? I remember having a filter sometime back that was very sturdy, and had a nice thick layer of foam on the bottom like the AF26106. The new ones seem like nothing more than a cheap Fram filter.

This is the one that I would really like to have but it shows it is only for 03-07

The 4th gen oem filter has a very hi dirt holding capacity and flows good as well.better than the foam covered filter you mentioned

Stick with Mopar of FleetGuard!

If Chrysler deems you have installed an inferior filter they may deny warranty on a air quality claim. Just look inside your air box, it should be spotless.

I have no intention of going with anything other than Mopar or Fleetguard. Was just kind of wanting one that looked to be a little bit better quality. I went ahead & ordered the Mopar last night!

Just because the silicone seal is orange doesn't mean it's a Fram equivilant.

The foam layer that came on the second gen filters from the factory was there mostly for noise control. If Mama did not like the noise the truck was a no go!

Cummins owns Fleetguard and they spend mucho R & D on filtration.
