Ammo to deal?
Huskerman -
Ammunition to try for a better deal from local dealer?
You have to factor in YOUR location in relation to DSM
or LouFusz (Tomeygun) or any other dealer.
The best prices I received (in order) were:
1. Tomeygun, 2. DSM, 3. Tonkin (in Oregon)
Simply missed one or two xlnt others - not excluded for
any reason.
I should add that I was treated very well by each of the
sales people from those dealers - all via internet.
Tomeygun always encouraged buyers to use his quotes for
the purpose of "negotiating".
Anyway, I'm in So. CA. So - I definitely used those quotes
to "compete" with local dealers. In Orange County
["The OC!] some came close, but not THAT close!
As the cut-off date for 05's was approaching, I tried the
County South of me - told the dealer I was ready to go out
of state (I was) UNLESS somebody would come
close(er) to those price/s. She did, I bought.
Spent a bit more (still 2% under invoice before rebates), saved a lot of
driving time plus fuel & motel/s to either Kellog ID or St. Louis MO.
Would I have gone out of State if I couldn't at least "come close"
to their (out of State) prices - you bet.
The point is - you won't know if somebody's "best" price is -the- BEST,
unless it can't be beat! Have to wheel and deal - in person or in
cyber-land. And - sometimes - price alone will NOT
be the deciding factor.
