I'm with Cattletrkr, I have several hooked to mine with no proble. (Knock on wood)



NJT, it is the orange wire with brown stripe. I believe it is pin #4.

Eric, are you saying if I hook a light up to that wire it will dim with the other instrument lights?

Uhmmm, I think so. All of mine dim with the instrument lights. I'm not sure if this is the wire I hooked to, but I think it is.

Test. Light.

I got it figured out. The side panel of the instrument panel comes off giving easy access to the plug behind the light and dimmer switch. I tested all the wires for about a half an hour and couldn't find any power. I got the bright idea to check the test light. guess what, bulb blown. I was pi$$ed. Got another test light, found the hot wire, and hooked up the light to the pressure gauge. I'm a happy man.

The sharp point on my test light would have been imbedded somewhere in the shop wall right about then. :-laf

Did you take notice of which position the correct wire went into?

No I didn't. There were 5 or 6 wires going into that plug, 3 were orange with a brown strip. It was one of those. If you need to know I can check and report back.

I bought a Snap-On test light years ago. CT4G, Tester, Circuit, for 6V and 12V Systems

The replacement bulb is easy to replace and is readily available from the Snap On tool truck or on line. I keep a couple of replacements on hand.
