When can a new Hemi switch to synthetic oil?

I just got back from the land fill were I received my very first dent. :{ The driver of the dozer covering garbage "didn't think he was that close". He was pushing up some bales of something that looked like felt, when one of them just happened to fall into the drivers side of my truck. He said he saw me standing there cursing but did not know what was wrong until he looked down and saw the bale sitting up against my truck. The fine folks at the land fill says "don't worry we will fix it" duh. Now I have to wait for their adjuster to call me next week, but then after some debate :-{} they say well you can get it fixed where ever you like.

In August of 1968 I bought a beater to go to the dump. It was a 1950 Dodge 1/2 Ton with 32K miles-see sig. It had been sitting in a garage for over 4 years. The dang thing has long since become a member of the family. It has about 1500 miles since a major restoration in 1986. About 10 years ago, I told my son I thought I would sell it as I rarely drove it and he said, "Dad, if you sell that truck I won't speak to you for a year". Guess I will just have to give it to him--------but daughter wants it also :-{} . :(

Years ago, I was at this dump that took in sludge from a Vitamin C plant. It was just about as putrid as sewage could get. Seeing about six inches of this slime everywhere, I hauled out of the Toyota 4x4 I had at the time without touching the ground. Guy next to me with a 1st gen 2x Dodge could not get moving. Dozer backs up to him and motions to the guy to take the chain off the dozer and hook up. Guy had to get down in this muck to hook up. Yucko!
