Beyond the Valley : Dash squeak!

While I was doing some soundproofing yesterday, Thats another story, I had my cowl cover off and noticed rubbed off paint on the corner of the cowl. I turned over the cover, and noticed in the corresponding area, the same rubbed spot. (see photo).

There was enough meat on the cowl cover to do a little fileing of the area... . That and a little lube, and I think I might have found my dash squeak.

WHOOOOHOOOO!!



Raining today, and the squeak was worse when the sun was out, so I'll keep you posted (pun intended).

Dash Squeek

I had a dash squeek that drove me crazy. It would occur while turning slightly on the wheel. My dealer in Folsom, CA had seen the same problem before. It turns out it's a linkage inside the steering column. I have the receipt, if anyone is interested in parts.

I am very interested in seeing that. Im about to "SNAP" with my squeek. I have 2 different ones. A creeek and a Squeek. The creek is comming from the steering colum. It seems to do it more when I tow empty and turn the wheel a bit. But I tell ya Im about to lose is drives me crazy.
