BF Goodrich Velvet Ride Springs

Any experience with BF Goodrich Velvet Ride Springs? These are replacements for the rear spring shackles to lessen the unloaded rear wheel hop. Thanks

I installed a set of velvet ride shackles a few weeks ago. Not sure if they were B. F. Goodrich though. I've noticed a considerable difference in the way my truck rides. It doesn't bounce over bumps like it used to. It doesn't ride like a Cadillac but it sure made a difference, and for $150 you can't go wrong. #ad

I got em! Every little bit helps. My ride smoothing exercises went like this.
1. 265 tires - additional air volume and load range D, which is a softer sidewall.
2. Velvet Rides - seemed to dampen the top of shock rise.
3. Monroe SensaTrac shocks - seemed to help most of all.
Tough to tell which of the above did the most to take the chop out of the empty ride. If I had to leave one out it would be the VR's. They are guaranteeed for your satisfaction, but it wasn't worth the $140 to deinstall them. I can still tell it's a truck!
Funny thing - the Monroes were in the mail when I stopped by a Les Schwab store and asked one of the guys if there was anything that would soften the ride. "Nope - the OE shocks are the softest of em all. Dodge just has a rough ride ". Almost sent the Monroes back - but again - it was only a $100.
Another funny thing - buddy just took delivery of a Power Stroke. He has the same TT as I - about 7400GVW. He complains that the TT makes his truck squat and wallow. He wants to stiffen his ride. Nobody's Happy!

Hmmm.

Rob S. was going to do a product review but found them so worthless that he changed his mind. I was considering them at the time.

Anybody motivated could probably do a search for the post. It was winter of 98-99 I believe.

I installed them on my new Y2K. They were probably worth the $160 I paid for them, but I don't think they were worth the work of installing them. I agree with tlippy, I don't think it's worth it to take them off either.

Robert says he intends to publish my write up of the installation in the next TDR. I hope to get the photos to him in time.
