any of you guys running BFG all terrains on your stock wheels? i have the all terrains on my Moto Metal wheels and love them! how do these tires fare in the snow? i have 50 miles on my stock chrome tires and wheels and want to upgrade the tires from the garbadge michelins to the bfg's. what size are you guys running? my tires and wheels now are 33x11. 5x18 and the fit well with no rubbing. i'd like to get a wider then stock replacement. thanks... james :D

I have the BFG AT's that are the metric equivalent of 35x12x17 and I have only experienced a little rubbing when off roading. For the snow, no idea being that I live in the muggy state of South Carolina but I know my old man runs them on his Titan, and my bro and I are trying to convert him to CTD, and he lives in Wyoming and loves the tires. When these wear out, guessing about 30k miles, I will buy another set.

I have BFG All Terrain A/T 315/70R/17s on stock chrome clad 17x8 wheels with 2" leveling kit. No rubbing at all. Would be better on 17x8. 5 or 17x9. But I have over 50,000 miles on mine with just a little cupping wear. Probably right at 60,000 before they have to be replaced. No real issues with the tires, I did upgrade shocks and steering stabilizer when they were put on to Rancho 9000Xs. Just what I have always done with bigger tires on 4x4s. I rotate and balance every 6-8k. Well in South Texas not a lot of snow to play in. I have had BFG All Terrains on most of my 4x4 trucks for the last 20 years. I think they are a very good compromise for mainly highway and moderate off road use. They always did a good job in the snow when I was in Colorado visiting. The only place they gave me any problems was in sloppy mud.

TG,

My truck is stock, so i have the "Trail Rated" tires that came on the vehicle. But I and some others have had valve stem failure(s) with the the stock wheels and tires. It seems the stems that came on the truck are rated to 65 PSI and the tires hold 80 PSI. I'm sure you know all this, but I just thought I would mention it.

the factory michelins are great for wear, they will wear quite a bit better than the bfg AT's but they absolutly suck in snow, they are the slipperyist tire I have ever been on in snow, When I had BFG's on my '02 they did great in snow and offered much more traction. I pulled alot but I got 45k out of my stock michelins and about 35k on my BFG's this was on my old '02, when my michelins get down on my new truck BFG's will be going on

The BFG AT KO in a 285/70-17 on the stock wheel would be very close to what you currently have. They come out to be just over 33" tall and 11. 5" wide. The fit great on the 17x8 stock wheel.

The unique thing about the BFG AT is they are rated as a dedicated snow tire. The have a special compound and tread design that gets them that rating. I run them mostly because of that because we get SNOW, and I drive in it :)

I have BFG 315/70/17's on my truck on stock wheels. Thus far I really, really like them. The do rub the control arms just a little when I turn really sharp, like to get into a tight parking spot. I do have a 2" leveling kit that will fix that problem, just haven't got it put on yet. I don't know how they'd fair in the snow yet, but they seem to do okay on wet pavement.
