No noticeable road noise for me at all. I've ran "mud grips" all my life. Todays tires are so much different noise-wise than the old 7. 50-16 co-ops. Look around your area, find someone with a set, and take a spin. I run Bridgestone Revo's AT on my 5. 9 2500 05 company truck and on the wife's Suburban. I can not tell a noise difference. But then again my beautiful wife keeps telling me I'm deaf after she says something important!

How do the TOYO MT's handle hard pack snow?

I won't need tires for another 15-20K. So I have time to evaluate based on other people's use/perceptions.

Thanks.

Bob

I Just siped mine after 19k for this winter. Great on hard pack snow last winter when new. Siped just the center lugs for a little added traction on highway hard pack and that nice black ice that always seems to be around here. JM. 02

I went from the D rated Nitto Terra Grapplers to the E rated Toyo MT and now think I'm going to go with the BFG ATs in the E rated 32" (305/65/17). With as many highway miles as I drive and living most the time in Southern California, it just doesn't make sense from a noise or mileage perspective to go with a mud tire. BTW - The Nitto's were crap.

I appreciate the replies. Its really becoming a hard choice between the options. Its a large chunk of change to drop and safety is always paramount.

By the way, I am noticing that people who dump on the Nittos always seem to be dumping on their D rated tires, not the E's.

Toyo,please no more "Red" tires.

I've ridden in an '06 Dodge with 35" Toyo MT's and the tire noise is minimal. I'm running Toyo AT's and consider them nearly silent. BFG and Discount Tire reamed me on my BFG KO's which I ran on my '99. They said tires were not the problem(5-10 oz. s of weight per tire to balance) and that it was the drivetrain that was the problem. I finally out of desperation switched to Toyo M-55's and aside from some tire noise@45-60 mph, this solved all vibration problems. Minimal if any weight needed. Unfortunately,my current 285 Toyo AT's are made in Communist China and that I do have a problem with . What's the deal Toyo? I've found an independent tire shop here in San Diego that delivers a competitive price on Toyos and excellent service. Discount's out!

I had the Toyo AT's installed on the truck this summer. They have done pretty well on wet pavement, dirt roads and ice. However they seem to get loaded up quickly in heavy snow, and they are not worth a **** in the mud. As for the Toyo MTs. They look cool. We have had them installed on some of our vehicles with the fire rescue agency that I am employed with. As for reviews on them, the guys haven't said much about them not working anywhere..... The biggest complaint that I have head from them is that they get a little squishy operating at high speeds running to emergency calls on I-80. All said, I think that when I wear out the AT toyos that I have now, I will upgrade to the MTs and have them completely siped. I was a HUGE fan of BFG AT tires for the longest time. I ran them exclusively on my 99' ram and had VERY good luck with them in all road conditions ( did very well in mud, heavy snow and ice with + 50% tread left). I switched to the toyo stuff after hearing decent reviews from users from my fire rescue agency ( both personal and agency vehicles) , and local folks in the area that have ran them for many years. ALSO I take all of my business to Schwab here in the Elko area, as it is just more convenient for me to do so, and they do not stock BFG tires. Oo.
