I too really liked the BFG KM2 muds. I ran two sets of them before these Toyos. Before that, I ran 3 sets of the original BFG mud terrains. The problem I had with the BFGs was that I continued to break belts. My last set I broke belts on three out of the four. The my last trip with them I had a blow out at 70 mph on the highway towing an atv trailer. I managed to slow down to 20 mph before it fully let loose and damaged my inner fender. The second went egg shaped once at my destination 200 miles away. I had to purchase 1 BFG AT 315/70R17 (as close to 35" I could find) for $360 just to get home. It seemed to ride nice, but now it sits in my garage still with the little nubs on the tread. Bought the Toyos for the 10 ply E rating. The heat of Florida combined with driving a little fast is hard on tires, especially when the tread gets a little low. The BFG all terrains probably dissipate heat a little better. I would rather deal with BFGs blowing out than the Toyos squirm. Pro Comp has recently released their new 10 ply mud tire. Like the Toyos, they are more of an all terrain.

JMcCoy, you say you bought the Toyo's for the 10 ply E rating. Were the KM2's you ran that kept breaking belts 10 ply E rated or 8 ply D rated?? Just curious. I had problems with 8 ply d rated Big O brand tires prior to going to the Toyos, and then BFG's. I definitely think the 10 ply E rated tires are the way to go with these trucks, regardless of the brand.

The BFG KM2s were 8 ply D rated. BFG doesn't make a KM2 anywere near 35" in E rating. This thread spurred me write BFG and plea for them to offer more E rated tires sizes. I'm sure they'll get right on it. The only reason I don't stick a knive in the side of my Toyos is that I don't know what E rated mud tire to go to. I guess it will be another $1,400 crap shoot. Reading reviews obviously didn't help as most give the Toyos a good review.

I've run the BFG TA KO for years on my '05 and my '98 with no issues. Rotates about very 7,000 miles. The current set has 50,000 on them with plenty of tread left.

I've had 3 sets of BFG All Terrain KO's on my 98 12V. 2 sets were on the stock 16" wheels( 285/75/16). The set I have now is on late model dodge 17" alloy chrome clad wheels(285/70/17). I like the KO's because they drive good, run quiet, stay balanced and are good in mud and snow. They wear down fast at first, then when the thread gets to about 10/32 they wear slow. Rotate them about every 5000 mi.

The bfgs have treated me really well. I only use them in the winter months for hunting and winter driving I get close too 50,000 miles a set. They are plum wore out at 50,000 miles. I have put 3 sets on my truck.

The new design BFG all terrain KO2 specs are on the bfg site. FINALLY there is a 35x12.50R17 AT with an E load rating. I have found my next set of tires...

We ran BFG AT's on all our trucks(DRW 4x4 (8) last year (put on in fall). They are excellent in snow and ice conditions when new, but they wear fast for the first 50% of treadlife. Some did not make it past spring and some are done now. Actually not sure what my son has decided to run this go round. (about 40 K miles and there done pulling 8K 99%.
Will add that last winter was worst in many years and did not have any crashes as opposed to other years that we ran commercial T/A's.

I'm with you, i have toyo m/t's 35x12.5 and they are crap. gonna try BFG ko2's 285/70 17's

The KM2's are quieter than the Toyos. However,I've seen a set nearly worn out at 24k on a Dodge at the shop I frequent. The owner was swapping them out for Toyo MT's.

Aside from the noise which wasn't that bad,I loved my Toyo MT's. Minimal wear @ 19K when I sold them to a friend. Balanced easily as do my AT2's. Just wanted a quieter tire. Zero squirm after 800 miles and that's with the camper weight. The inherent right pull was cured with my 2.0 Fox steering stabilizer inflated to 100 psi. I'm now using the stocker as I had to deflate the Fox ss as to render it useless. Neutral tracking on the AT2's

My toyo mts were completely bald at 20,000 I hear of people getting good mileage out of em but I didn't I tow heavy and maybe that's why they didn't last .

Does any one have these tires on there truck, and if so what do you like and don't like about them? For me they need to handle some long highway trips with a 7500 pound trailer, heavy gravel, and large sharp rock? And are they any good on pack snow and ice? Thanks!

I had some on a ranger worst tires I ever had but they must have only been a 2 ply every time I went on a gravel road a rock would get in the tread and then puncture the tire .

Just an unbelievable amount of side wall squirm. They are smooth and relatively quiet for a mud tire, but the squirm is unsafe an unbearable. they seem to be wearing well. I wish they would just wear off out. Lol

The Toyo MT's I had were the best tire I ever put on my truck, but, they were the old build from Japan. What I hear is the new tires built here are not standing up as well. Could be the tire rating also. The 3700+ lb rated tires seem to be the best, the lighter rated ones seem to be the issue and I can see why if they squirm. Should be not squirm at all in them, just the typical tendency to wallow if they are under aired. They like 70 lbs in the front or handling was impacted.

I just took a set of bfg all terrain 245 75 15 off my 1998 jeep grand cherokee they have 66000 miles on them. 3 tires have 4/32 left and one is completely wore out. I am really happy with the life of the tire. Its no an easy life ether being my mountain rig and all around beater rig.

I have been running BFG ATs on my vehicles (Isuzu Rodeo, Jeep Wrangler, Ram 1500, Ram 2500) for over 25 years and love them. Never had an issue. I like the looks, the grip (road, snow, offroad), I have found them to be quiet enough. I thought the wear and mileage was fine. Will continue to run them.

I have been running these tires on my second set now. I like them, they are smooth riding, good in snow and ice. but as far as weight is concerned they might be a little lite for that. I have ran the Toyo's mud. I was impressed with the tread design, but they wore pretty fast. I only have about 6,000 miles on these tires BF Goodrich. But when they wear out I will be getting Toyo open country, I think they are the best of two worlds. Heavy side walls E rated tires. Good all terrain design and good ware. They are spendy but worth it to me.
