what does everyone usually use for connecting the bhaf to the turbo hose? is plastic not a good idea? i do have a small piece of 4" galvinized pipe, or shoud i use stainless?

I went to a muffler shop in town and they gave me a 2" piece of 4" diameter exhaust pipe and that works perfectly. It is thin walled so it doesn't restrict the hose any, is very rigid, and fit snug and perfectly in the BHAF. Mine is stainless, but any kind would work. Jim

The hose goes over the outside, you dont need anything to connect it. I just slipped the hose over the end of the filter and tightened the clamp, it hasn't moved in four years, some use a short piece of pipe inside the filter neck to reinforce it.

Though some have complained they have come off, I've not had a problem connecting them directly to the turbo hose, although I have noticed that the 19037 filter mouth is not alway just exactly the same size from one to the next.

Just use a 4" conduit (grey PVC) coupling. It's thicker than regular schedule 40 PVC and gives a real tight fit. Available at any hardware/electrical supply store.

Me, too. Just connected it directly with some grease slathered on to make sure it seals. So far, so good. no dust at all in the intake tube.

I did'nt use anything on my old BHAF, but when I put the Scotty II on I had to use a spare piece of exhaust pipe off my buddies 4" system. I cut a piece about 4-6" long and crammed it inside the filter, the put the tube on and tightened the clamps.
